Wow- nice field in the Endeavour.

Obviously there's a little hole in the GP stakes schedule if horses like Lear's Princess, Meribel, and Dreaming of Anna show up at Tampa.

Well, you know it's a big day at Tampa when Travis Dunkelberger comes down to ride.

Where is Check It Twice? I thought he was going in the Sam Davis after he scratched out of the Risen Star.....is he injured?

Out 4-6 weeks..

The Sam F. Davis looks chalky to me with Z Humor and Wise Answer the two most likely winners by far. I just think the outside horse dramatically hurts the Zito horse who won't be able to walk through the early stages on the lead like he did in his last two.

Smooth Air would be my choice in here, the only question is the distance. But I think he should be able to handle it, put him on top.

Wise Answer and Z Humor have already proven themselves around two turns and did it while posting faster figs than Smooth Air has ever run around one turn.
When you add in the fact that he has a definite one-turn pedigree, I think he becomes the third choice at best in this spot. He could certainly prevail, but at the relatively short price he is likely to be, I think I'll let him beat me.

I think people are underestimating Smooth Air's pedigree for routes. . .

Seems like pace ought to mean something here and it looks to me like an awful lot of runners here are going to want the lead. Smooth Air and Z Humor look like stalkers that will wait for these front running types to spend themselves. Interesting that Coa jumps from the 1 to the 6.

Any news on Take the Ribbon?

Hope she's alright.

Good luck, Smooth Air.

Wow, the Endeavour was quite a race!
Nice performance by the two big horses.

Lear's Princess showed a ton of guts overcoming the sluggish pace at a distance probably less than ideal for her. She'll be okay this year.

2 for 2 at the distance over turf (obviously against cheaper) and 1 for 2 on dirt (a win in the Gazelle and a toss out race in the slop in the BC).

I think the pace hurt her more than the distance. Good race though, from both of them, coming off 4 months break. Would love to see them both stay healthy for the rest of the year.

Edit...she has never raced 1 1/16thon dirt. The other two races ( Gazelle and BC Distaff) I referred to were 1 1/8th in distance. My mistake.

heat related. she's fine.

I love how people bold things in responses to jib/jab. Just because a horse wins at a certain distance, doesn't mean it's their ideal distance. I think she's better going 9 furlongs or more.

Maybe you mistook my intentions or perhaps I should have phrased my response in the form of a question.
