One to watch in the Belmont

A horse that I really like to hit the board in the Belmont is Oh So Awesome. Trained by Jim Jerkens, he made his first US start in the slop on May 19. He had a rough trip, but closed real well. The 1 1/2 should suit him just right. Jerkens is real high on this horse, and he wouldn't be putting him in, if he didn't expect him to get a piece. Definitely keep an eye on him.

Just because he is a closer does not mean the longer the better. I doubt they'll be any real pace in here to support such a closing move.

I have never heard of this horse but wouldnt be surprised if he runs well given the trainer. He never places horses in races where they have no shot. Maybe Jim put some speed in him and if he has any shot, it will be from mid pack range. Hes not going to pass this entire field and win. Thanks for the info, I like it.

High Finance is very sharp and taking a big step up. He'd need a speed favoring track and to be left alone on the lead. Much stranger things have happened.

He may not get the 12 furlongs, but he already proved that he could win at 10.5 over in Europe. I guess you should never ASSume though.
