The Sumwon racing tree

Tri Delt Girl won like a good thing at Ellis Park in a Alwn1x. Final time for the mile was 1:38.55 but she was boxed on the inside and had to wait for an opening around the turn.

She ran against Humble Janet on June 17th in what looks like a major key race now.

Keep your head up, DT fans. She's going to be in the winners circle soon. :)

At Arlington yesterday, another Came Home daughter, the two-year-old filly Passion, owned by Smith, Tabor and Magnier (out of Rajmata by Known Fact), won her maiden special weight (Race 3) by 7 1/2, as she pleased (and while racing on the front end), with Rene Douglas sitting still as a statue and posing for the photo the last 16th. Time: 58.09 (Arlington poly record 57.88)

VERY impressive!

PSH 07-14-2007 10:28 PM

That was quite a performance

VERY impressive!

Passion sold at the Keeneland April 2 year old sale for i believe $260,000 and worked out 1/8 in 9 and 4/5 seconds. I can not believe she paid $10.40 coming from the Pletcher barn. Boy did she look good and was under wraps the last 1/16th of a mile. Definitely watch out in stakes races...

PSH:) :)

According to New York Racing Association stakes coordinator Andrew Byrnes, other expected Coaching Club American Oaks (Gr. I) starters include Humble Janet, a $30,000 claim by Steve Asmussen who comes off a runner-up finish in the Grade 3 Iowa Oaks..

I have been out of touch for a day or 2 and just read about Humble Janet, my jaw hit the floor and is still hanging open.....the possibilities are seemingly endless with our lovely girl.

looks like this is a listed stake race

hmm

watch how Green Door quickened in the stretch while never too far out of it in the middle of the track. Hardly asked for too much run. I'll be surprised if she goes off at 6-1 and more surprised if she gets beat.

Thanks for the update

Just saw that while looking through AP entries. I agree with AE on this one, 6-1 would be generous, even though the Pletcher will take a good bit of cash.

No matter where she runs, Sumwon always finds a horse who is stepping up to bigger things after they face off!

Slightly interested in Arundel, at what should be a huge price.

ddthetide 07-28-2007 07:19 AM

anyone heard anything lately on Girls Pearls ? imo, she is the best horse that's beaten Sumwon.

AeWingnut 07-28-2007 06:49 PM

Green Door spit the bit today

I think it was the $150 I had on her

Many Others 07-28-2007 06:58 PM

yes am afraid was textbook example of spit the bit - am also sure my $5 w/p/s just in case of miracles didn't help either lol...

Humble Janet a fast closing second in the American Oaks 100k G3.

Humble Janet was bumped at the start, unhurried early, then had a late rally five wide. Second to Marietta by 1 3/4 lengths.

Am I reading this right? A new track record for a mile and an eighth on the Arlington poly 1:49:39. I know it's new, but I would have thought something has gone a little faster. Or have they not carded that many 9f races there?

it is because it was wet today, rain packs it down and they go SUPER fast.

PeteMugg 08-18-2007 09:38 PM

1:49 is super fast?
