Gulfstream tidbits

Selections 'downstairs' in a while, but wanted to make sure those playing GP got these heads-ups which could be important...

1.) "Ultimate Equipment Change" (Oh So Awesome, 7th): On the Thoro-Graph 'Ask the Experts' page, Barry Irwin of Team Valor revealed that Oh So Awesome, listed as a colt in the PP's, has been gelded since his last start...

2.) "Two in the Bush" (Vern Bush for Bobby DiBona, 8th/9th): Ran into the great Vern Bush, a big Carolina Barbecue fan when he visits Toga, Saturday at Tampa. Vern told me he was coming in to Hallandale to ride a pair for Bobby DiBona... The #5 Cherokee Heat (5-1) in the 8th and the #6 True Genius (5-1) in the nightcap. The numbers? Bush with DiBona: 21 starts, 7 wins (33%), 13 ITM finishes (71%). Just an FYI..

ALSO NOTE.. Eibar Coa in town for a trio (3rd, 5th, 6th)..

Thanks Steve, I noticed the Bush angle for today. I picked OSA on top, now I have even more confidence that he is going to run big. I will say I spent alot of $ last year chasing that angle with a Frankel horse. Drawing blanks on the name, he is owned by Juddmonte he is a chester house.........First Word ....... it just came to me.

More Stuff

Yesterday Bravo had 2 live ones for Jersey connections, Orseno and Breen. Monmouth isn't far off, expect a few more.

Watch for the wind today, if it was anything like yesterday, the later races had some really fast horses pop a half mile and die on the turn, the wind was from the north into their faces .

Also, Keeneland opens April 6th, and with those giant purses expect few winners from Kentucky connections in s.Fl. and more from the Calder and Tampa crowd.IMHO.

Gotta get some java goin' ...........:D

Are you saying expect a few more winners from Ky or "few" winners?

sorry if i confused you with that one. It is just my perception that KY connects will be shooting for larger purses. That said, horses that don't polytrack will be waiting for CD., so they may score before leaving fl. to run at CD. The purses are so much greater in KY that its crazy to waste bullets down here.
