Choke Artist A Rod
Bases loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the first, A Rod is true to form and strikes out looking on three pitches.
Words can't describe what a choke artist piece of garbage this guy is. |
he isnt a choke artist, probably the best player in the game right now

Hes stranded more guys in the playoffs the last three years than anyone in history. Players are defined by how they play in pressure situations that matter, not how they do with the score 7-1 either way in May. Its why he doesnt have any rings. |

Please explain. He doesnt make more than Jeter in endorsements, and he shouldnt. Jeter is a winner and A Rod is a loser. Jeter has to carry his sorry ass now. Hes useless. |
Oracle, you whine like a little girl. It isn't enough your team has over $100 million more in payroll than the Tigers. Now you whine because of a first inning strikeout.
For the poster above, Arod makes more per at bat ($40K) than most people make per year. Yankee fans are like little girls. If everything doesn't go their way they whine. You don't hear Detroit fans whining because the Yankees knew the game was cancelled last night and were told by MLB, but Detroit's starting pitcher wasn't told and he went out and wasted his arm warming up. How about MLB letting one of the best players in baseball, Abreu, just become available for the highest bidder, which we alll know was going to be the Yankees. WHY DON'T THE YANKEES JUST BUY EVERY PLAYER IN MLB, and then they can never lose. |

I've been frustrated with A Rod too, but I'm going wait to see what he does over the entire playoffs(this year) before I write him off as a complete choke artist. |
They just showed the graphics and hes thrown 79 pitches at the end of 4 innings. Hes got maybe one more inning left, and then he either gets shelled, or you gotta call on the batphone out to the pen.

LOL.. This is his "final test" for me.. if he continues to fail to come through in more spots (like today's 1st inning), I'm on that choke artist band wagon. |
Detroit is just horrible. How they made the playoffs is a great wonder.
Hopefully Oakland will destroy the Yankees. |

You can forget anyone in the NL beating either the Yanks or the A's. Thats not gonna happen. Its Yanks and A's and thats the way it should be Tim. You should have to beat the best to be pronounced the best. |
Theres nothing I dont agree with as far as what you just said. The only team who can beat the Yankees is a team with exceptional pitching like the A's.
Everyone else is just playing for 3rd place. The Yankees and A's are so much the best 2 its not even funny. |
Detroit is horrible. They lost 30 out of their last 50. The Yankees are still struggling with them.
For Oracle, What is the score now big mouth. LOL. I almost want the Yankees to get to the WS though so Wagner can strike out Arod in game 7 with the bases loaded, 2 outs down a run. Maybe next year the Yankees can spend $300 million. |

The Mets making the World Series?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh, wait, I gotta go, Willie's on the phone, he needs me to start Game 3!!! |

Speaking of struggling, those Mets sure looked "great" yesterday hanging on for dear life didn't they? |
Why is it so hard to believe that the Mets can reach the World Series? Who exactly is so good in the NL where the Mets cant rise above a pitching crisis and pull out some games? Aside from the Yankees, they are the only team that can score runs on a consistent basis. The rest of these teams have about as much offense as a Little League team.

You're right Gander, no team in the NL is too good or too bad, any could make the WS. I personally think it's going to be St. Louis. They have the offense and pitching and are playing pretty well right now. The Mets thinned out pitching staff will be their downfall. |
Somebody ought to smack those fruity glasses off his face. What a primadonna.
|
choke artist has three strikeouts today, I wouldn't give the bum a mop job.
|
Giambi and Sheff arent exactly lighting it up either. What, supplements dont help when the temp falls below 65?

Ol' Choke Artist is going to be the all time home run king by the time he retires.
|
LOL! How do you guys lose with a lineup like that?
To the Tigers? I'm waiting for an answer.... |
Well, well.
Yankees can't beat Detroit in game 2. Now they get to try to win having blown home-field advantage. Yankee fans everywhere are banging their spoons on their high chair trays. Signed, Blame it all on A-Rod |
Leyland, very smart guy for giving Verlander some time off, dude was dead tired and his arm was about to fall off towards the end, the two missed starts were huge for him.....
|
What do you mean, how do you lose to the Tigers? How did Secretariat lose to Onion? How did Man o' War lose to Upset?
The Tigers had two arms out there today who'd throw 101 mph, then 80 the next pitch. I don't care how good a hitter you are, that's not easy to hit. Tigers aren't exactly chump change. |
Is that old fart Randy Johnson pitching or is he injured? You can count on him blowing a lead in Detroit if he's the starter.
|
Randy Johnson worked the Tigers earlier this month in NYC. He's also no-hit the Tigers in his career. I'm guessing he pitches well tomorrow night.
I'm the most bitter fan in history. I guess going my entire life rooting for the Lions and Tigers will do that for me. |

I go back to the days of the Lions where we wore paper bags on our heads going to the Silverdome. Signed, Redford High '75 |
Heh. I don't go that far back, but I remember James Jones and Eric Hipple in the backfield. That was ugly.
|
Slot- I owe you and every Tiger fan an apology. I understimated you guys greatly. EIther that or I overestimated the Yankees.
Either way, sorry and believe me, I was rooting as hard for the Tigers as you guys were. I dislike the Yankees that much and anytime they lose is a pleasure to watch. Go Tigers! |
Wow..reading this thead.. who won the game...?
