That's a pretty strong Sal Mile.

Clip-Clop 06-29-2011 03:12 PM

Fantastic groups for both. Looking forward to the return of another cursed Derby choice of mine.

Is the Salvator Mile a "Win and You're In" race? If not, pretty surprising that this two-turn, Grade III race worth $200K came up stronger than a one-turn, Grade II Suburban worth $300K. Or did Rodman and Friend or Foe, who is conspicuous by his absence in the Suburban, scare them away?

I think it is a W&I race.

The Salvator Mile isn't a win and your in race according to the BC schedule on the site. But, it still a very good betting race, that should be a W&I race if it keeps getting fields like this one.

Gone are the days of English Channel setting the track record during this race while kicking Cacique's ass:D

I can still picture that $100 check with the words "cacique sucks" printed in the memo line:$:

Honest to a fault. Yet unappreciated on DT. Shame.

My avatar is the lead pedophile in the world's largest body of pedophiles, is that close enough?

Oh, wait, I forgot, my avatar is Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. Nevermind.

Wow, Fresian Fire... was wondering what became of him.

I love the General in a 5.5f turf sprint, with Pablo up. But 11f and Uske  Yeah, I guess, stranger things have happened. I better put a couple bucks down in case he gets a soft pace and wires the field at 20-1.

The Jersey Shore looks like a fun race.

hockey2315 07-01-2011 10:15 AM

Friesan Fire has obviously been vastly overrated throughout his career, but would it really be that shocking if he resurfaced as a different horse like the rest of the Jones move-ups?

Well he has the right style for that track.
Got to figure that he will be on or near the lead.

Calzone Lord 07-01-2011 10:42 AM

I think FF is unlikely even if Jones gets a reversal.

It's Soaring Empire or Zito. The UN is one of the two Euro's.

Just looked over about 25 races for tomorrow - other than Vukovar in the 4th at Parx - I see nothing I'm that excited about.

hockey2315 07-01-2011 10:44 AM

I think there's a lot not to like about the two Euros in the UN. . . They'll both be very overbet.

I see the pedigree appeal, but what else do you like about her. . . Did she work at a sale and then get withdrawn? Don't see any sales records for her on bris.

Yeah, she worked pretty fast in blinkers. She's fast.

I love the weak worktab with only 3 blah works showing.

Wish the horse was drawn outside - and wish it didn't have OO Castillo because he will chicken sh!t it up if the horse breaks slow... but horse will be fine if it breaks well.

The Americans are dog crap.

The filly Bravo is on, she has several races on her form that should see her toy with these horses. I don't get bringing her over unless she's doing well.

hockey2315 07-01-2011 11:08 AM

Obviously Stacelita's best form is too good for these--isn't that how it is w/ every Euro? Still, though, I'm not sure she's the same horse she once was and the trainer is 0/19 in the U.S. (hit the board a number of times, though). I'm a total sucker, so I'm giving Bold Hawk one more chance on firm turf this time.

Look at her 2010 come-back race. Look at her 2nd run.

This is a good place to start, even if only competitive with ML he would be showing he can do something.

NTamm1215 07-01-2011 11:29 AM

I was waiting to see if it was written anywhere, but is it possible Martin Schwartz is going to turn Stacelita over to Chad Brown? This is kind of the same thing he did with Angara, Gorella, and Zagora.

Ya, but that comeback was also vs. a much tougher field and in her backyard. Obviously she can improve second off the lay-off, but she's a 5-year-old mare who didn't really improve from three to four. There's no way you're supposed to take 5-2 on her here or whatever she'll be. Chinchon's race here last year would obviously be enough to win, but he's done a TON of traveling recently and I don't think the race sets up all that well for him.

Thanks. I knew she was going to murder them when she broke well.

At least we got $23 and change in the DD with a Juan Carlos trained even money winner.
