THE star of 2007 will be.....
Just for fun, let's make a prediction.
My choice for up-and-coming monster? The Godolphin horse, Librettist. Entered in the Prix du Moulin on Sunday and possible for the BC Mile (along with Iffraaj), he's won 6 of 7 now..... looked absolutely stunning. Note the long layoff..... missed over a year. A star. I think Bernardini will run next year, so I choose him for Star of 2007.:)
|
Is this some kind of trick question?
Everyone knows it'll be ... Mayan King. |

Librettist is now pointed to the QE II and the BC Mile..... let me know where yours is heading. Nice pick! :) |
Visionario is going for the G1 2yo race on Arc day - used to be the Grand Criterium, new name now..
|
Discreet or Bernardini, whichever runs next year. Also, watch for the return of Your Tent or Mine. He'll be a monster.
|
bright one and circular quay are two horses with big futures.

four sins

well, my picks so far are
point ashley--was lucky enough to see her break her maiden, which kev and i drooled over. said than she was one to watch, her del mar debutante only re-inforced my faith! pine island--by arch, but more importantly, out of the full sister to pleasant home, winner of the '05 distaff. hopefully she stays in training--dinny has enough broodmares! lol circular quay--after seeing horses such as point given, macho uno, and afleet alex to name a few, we all know that not ALL two year old stars fade out at three. his bashford was good, his hopeful was outstanding! showing up. dual surface runner. look out! aragorn--will repeat as bc mile winner next year! :D |

* * * Hey Bold... I know how much you love Turkey so found this for you. Maybe you can go with one of these..... Raiders repelled (no author listed) TURKEY Momtic was no match for the locals in the closing stages of the Group 2 Topkapi Trophy at Veliefendi, Istanbul, on Sunday. But, although he could do no better than sixth, the only British runner on international day kept on gamely to be beaten under three lengths, writes Alastair Donald. Ribella, third in the race two years ago and a regular visitor to the Dubai International Carnival, landed the spoils by a neck from Kaneko, with Kurtiniadis third ahead of the odds-on Sabirli. |
You all are going to realize that Gorella is the bomb! She is going to awe you guys the rest of this season and DAZZLE even more next year!
Then she can go retire and make some awesome babies! |

There ya go...Here is a horse that I think most root for! I think she is outstanding too Buffy! This is a really bold prediction... Nobiz Like Showbiz, but don't expect to see him in the Juvy race at Churchill Downs this fall. He'll most likely have his coming out party early next spring. Sun King is coming into himself. I think that showing Up will be a lot better horse next year. Bernardini and Discreet Cat are monsters. And a lower level Grade I/Grade II horse who we will love is Lawyer Ron. My predicition is that all of these horses mentioned in this thread will be the starz of next year. I'm going to really go out on a limb here... The horse of the year will be either Nobiz like Shobiz or Discreet Cat. Nobiz like Shobiz will win the Kentucky Derby. The unraced Hip #8 that I keep talking about is going to make some major noise as well if he makes it to the track. |
Man, do I feel out of it right now. I'm completely clueless when it comes to 2YO's this year. My TC hangover is lasting longer than it should.

I think someone else posted a thread on Nobiz Like Shobiz when he won because it was so freaking awesome. Nobiz like Shobiz broke his maiden (also his first start) in the 2nd race at Belmont on the 9th of this month. He is trained by Barclay Tagg (my fav. trainer!). He beat Bullara by 10 lengths without even being hand ridden down the stretch (although I think that the Cornelio used the stick to get by Bullara at the top of the stretch). He ran the mile in 135.26, which was the second fastest out of four at the distance on that day. It was unbelievable for a first time out. He is a beautiful animal and has such a pretty way of going. He impressed me a lot more than Tiz Wonderful or Prime Ruler did in their maidens. Hip #8 is located in the March sale at barretts.com. of this year. He is a very beautiful moving Orientate who is fast, fast, fast. |

I'd really have to see him do something again before I went nuts over him. Call me skeptical. |

I was scoring on horses like Grab the Green and Royal Mountain Inn back when he was watching Sesame Street. Hes a great trainer. I'm not saying his race wasn't very good because it was. But I thought he had an ideal scenario behind some duelers whose quality I question and simply wanna see him do it again before becoming a believer that he will succeed at the highest level. |

I was serious about Sun King, assuming he runs. He's improving, and if they can ever figure out if he's a closing sprinter or a miler or whatever, he'll be in a good spot no matter where they place him. Aside from that race very early in the year, he's been well placed throughout 06.

Discreet Cat.
