Derby Card PP's are available now at DRF...

I forgot how sprinty this undercard is.

jimmy the T 04-28-2010 04:40 PM

R. Albarado vs J. Leparoux only 2 jocks to have mounts in all six stake races. Which jock has the better mounts? Which one has the better chance to win more than one race on sat?

Cards like Friday's and Saturday's at CD make you believe that good racing still exists.

Obviously don't know course condition because of the forecast, but I think Leparoux has a big shot on Saturday with Fantasia. She ran real well in a loaded allowance race at Keeneland in last and has the back class to handle the "rise" back to stakes competition.

Agree... my hats off to the CD racing office, who put together two absolutely amazing cards. I am drooling at the opportunities already.

First one at 8am sucks, but the 10th is awesome.

slotdirt 04-28-2010 09:07 PM

Gotta ease your way into the juleps. Stop at Finlandia on the way in, grab a bloody mary at 10:00, a julep at 11:00, then move to beer. Your handicapping acumen plummets, but it makes for an otherwise fun Derby day.

VOL JACK 04-28-2010 10:47 PM

How the F was Warbling installed at 8-1 Morning Line?
Where do I sign up for that?

I think because you know who on here is high on her.

chucklestheclown 04-28-2010 11:42 PM

Race 8 will kill me; but I'll play anyway to support the industry.

My buddy has the simple syrup already prepared. It's hard to chill those things. They are tough out of the gate, but they get better with time.

Pretty damn ridiculous. Battaglia's made some weird choices this weekend. Jackson Bend at 15-1?

Gaining Ground 04-29-2010 11:02 PM

there is no speed at all in the woodford reserve. i think al khali has a good chance on or just off the slow pace.

Only 1 person can say i like the 3/5 favorite,$100 win on her and lose

The Hammer is on today!!

ateamstupid 05-01-2010 12:33 PM

7 1/2 is way too far for HDC. Keep her at six. Kennealy's horse looks like she could be a nice miler.

Merlinsky 05-01-2010 03:55 PM

Congrats to Tom McCarthy! He just won the Turf Classic with General Quarters. I loved that group hug he got afterward. Best thing on the NBC coverage so far.

Amen! That was awesome ... very game effort by General Quarters. :D

Princess Doreen 05-01-2010 04:13 PM

YAY, General Quarters. I so :{>: that horse. I screamed him home - they heard me at CD all the way from here in VA.

I am so happy, and Atta Boy Roy is the race before. What a wonderful day, so far.

Hmm..forgot all about that. I just remembered the one-horse stable thing and everybody sure was all warm and fuzzy celebrating after the win. Well I'm happy for the horse then. General Quarters is indeed very cool.

Cannon Shell 05-01-2010 05:36 PM

Ice box was 100 lengths the best

cakes44 05-01-2010 05:39 PM

Now that was some brutal trip by Looking at Lucky.

Yeah, I remember hearing that - Steve Haskin made an issue about it last year. Heard other stories directly opposite. I frankly don't give a damn. I LOVE THAT HORSE - GENERAL QUARTERS. And, I am soooooooo happy he won.

He overcame a lot - gotta give him and his jockey a lot of credit. It's going to make for a very interesting Preakness. I'm just glad Super Saver won, cuz that's who I bet on. Nothing earth shattering $5 across the board.

It took me a while to latch onto Super Saver, but I went with it because it was Calvin and because it was double SS's like in Street Sense. Hey, it worked.
