I love some of these horses, I mean there is one of my all time favorites running, but this pick 4 IS PATHETIC.
|
I'll just save everyone's fingers from typing right now. These fields are crappy, NYRA sucks, racing blows, etc.

And where the hell is WSW to set it up for my Warrior?

How the **** do the NYRA/DRF diehards find the nuts to criticize other tracks when this is what they're drawing these days? 6 for the Wood?
Put a fork in the NYRA tracks: they're done. Luckily, WO is opening this week. |
4 graded stakes (two grade 1's)
1.4 Million in purses 23 betting entries total. :zz: |
Is the $500k P4 guaranteed still in effect?
|
Filly denied entry
After initially defending their choice to allow entry to the 3-year-old filly Nicky Boy in Saturday's Grade 1, $750,000 Wood Memorial, New York Racing Association officials came to their senses and denied her entry into the Wood.

No Nicky Boy!

Who cares if they allowed Nicky Boy to race? It's not any worse than NYRA allowing a maiden to enter the Belmont.

There is no defending it...this is an embarrassment to horse racing. Why don't these tracks start kicking out the cowards who won't race their horses?

I looked at the entries before I came on here and I knew this would be the response and rightly so. What the heck is going on with this place? Was looking forward to getting together with some buddies on what is going to be a gorgeous day and we get this? Too bad it came up this short, but in all honesty the entire Road to the Roses has been pretty frigging week and uninspiring. I rarely buy into this conversation because I love to bet horse races, but this is very sad. With that said, I will still be gambling on Saturday!

So much for Ironman Jon. I suppose he's hurt as he hasn't worked in awhile...
|
Too many stakes chances are out there and horsemen space longer and longer amounts of time in between starts.
It's a great recipe for uninspiring short fields in big stakes. |
If Eightyfiveinafifty throttles 'em in the Bayshore.... A huge IF since he draws the rail again after the last fiasco... But if... I'm sure 120K would most likely not be enough to get in. Question is, does Contessa get Derby dreams again and look at the Lexington or train up to the Trial and shoot for the Preakness?

He's a step slow out of the box which was picked up by Mig last time and well documented by your sister's future baby daddy. Granted it's a long run up and the turn is not an issue here, but if he gets pressed to the rail and freaks again it could be any one of these (agree it's a laughable graded race). My point was that if he gets the 7/8th in hand by multiple lengths (15+) does Contessa look for a spot, or train to the Preakness... Hell, it wouldn't surprise me to see him wheel him into the Derby off of a solid Trial effort. |

I'm going to tread lightly with Hurricane Ike and any other horse Sadler enters in dirt races coming up. He has a horrendous record with horses going synth to dirt in graded stakes and is a guy who got "good" when CA went to synthetics. NT |

As much as the horse doesn't look like Forrest Camp, there is no way anyone thought he was getting a mile and a half on his best day... That said, the Kentucky Derby was certainly a well documented goal prior to the equipment malfunction in the Whirlaway... I don't know how anyone can take anything away from that - good or bad - so a strong effort in this spot would not necessarily discount a shot at the a TC race, namely the Preakness. In fact a Whithers / Preakness path is fairly sensible. |
I think NYRA truly misses Ernie P he could be always be counted on to add numbers.
