Isn't he a 5yo?

This'll probably be his swan song.

He is 5YO but if he runs back to his last race then he'll be a Grade II winner.

I'm not suggesting he doesn't have talent. I am calling his longevity into question, however, especially coming from Todd Pletcher's barn.

In related news, Freisan Fire is curiously absent.

Maybe they're hoping to get into the Apple Blossom along with Macho Again.

Oh his ability to stay healthy is worth questioning, that's for sure. I hope he can stay together because he's certainly been one of the few intriguing older males to go to the post this year with the exception of his stablemate.

Oops, well Backtrack and Backtalk are pretty similiar :D

RockHardTen1985 03-26-2010 07:22 PM

If I get anywhere near the 6-1 ML on Battle Plan I will be making my largest wager of the year. Even though I doubt I will, he has the looks of one of those horses who opens at 4-5 or even money then maybe drifts up to around 3-1.

Like I said I think hes one of those that gets crushed early... Hes the goods, but this is a big step up.

RockHardTen1985 03-27-2010 03:49 PM

Pretty big step up there, off of that allowance race. This horse could be really good, I hope he stays sound.

eajinabi 03-27-2010 03:55 PM

Nice Pick!

RockHardTen1985 03-27-2010 03:58 PM

I did not bet him, I actually did not even single him in most of my plays I used him and HMB... I keyed him on one pick 3. I thought they would bet him like that.

With pletcher and a high BSF last out was bound to be lower than 6-1

AeWingnut 03-27-2010 04:38 PM

Who is winnig the LA Derby? Bubba Hotep?

I have 5,6,7 on top and half the field in 4th in my Super

Hope the race falls apart and Ron the Greek wins it

wait too short
lets try Mission Impazible in honor of the late great Peter Graves

philcski 03-28-2010 01:25 PM

I thought Stay Put ran much better than his 5th beaten 3 final would indicate. Was 3W around the first turn and 5-6W around the second, and was one of the only horses to close in the race as the 1,2,3 after the first call ended 2,1,4.

Yeah, that was not Jamie Theriot's finest work. Unfortunately he's short on graded earnings and isn't getting to the Derby but he could re-surface down the road.

I tried him too but he's a hanger. They made a big deal out of Drosselmeyer's trip on the absolutely awful USA telecast but I didn't exactly see an explosive move once he was free, and everything went perfect for him before the stretch. I don't like anything moving forward out of this race.

Drosselmeyer is an absolute roach. I hope thinking that he was a good horse is my last horrible opinion for this crop. He will not be in the Derby and that's good because he has no place there whatsoever.

I totally agree, he had a DREAM TRIP... Then had a little trouble, when he gets out, if good enough he is supposed to win, I think the winner might be ok, this race was only his third of the year off a sprint and wide trip... Besides the winner I dont see much, Dutrows horse can be a big time sprinter.

You think that the any closer had a dream trip in this race? Or in the RS? The winner didn't get too good of a setup, did he?
