I wish Sidney's Candy was in the Rebel.

There are few things I hate more than speedy horses in Pro-ride routes. If SC and AL hook up early in the San Felipe ... I hope the one who wins the battle runs well in inevitable defeat. I'll have my Derby future book bet finally.

VOL JACK 03-12-2010 07:46 AM

7 horses in the G3 Rebel?
With 300K in Graded earnings up for grabs in March, WTF!!

Did L@L and Dublin really scare everyone away?

I just hope Beautician gets bet in the Honeybee...

arizonadave 03-12-2010 07:52 AM

I think the rebel came up very tough and my $$$ will be on Uh oh Bango from Turf Paradise connections.

I don't think they have him real cranked for this race.
I think he already has plenty of graded earnings to into the Derby.
But I think he is a really nice horse as well.

arizonadave 03-12-2010 10:41 AM

you are correct, he has the earnings. This might be a tune up also, but the price should be right.

LAL and Dublin are in almost everyones top 5... I think its the premire showdown so far, and if I had a decent 3yr old I would not want to run vs these.

Breadman says Lookin At Lucky....

was looking great at Oaklawn. He says the talk on the backside is he's going to be a little short in his first trip back.

I highly doubt there is an upset in this spot, Baffert Lukas run 1-2.

It kinda was. But I think he's a play against at a short price.

I was making a reference to the Owens horse, not the Mcpeek.

I beleive in Baffert in this spot, hes been high on this horse for a while and his bc effot was a good one. I love the fact hes sending him here, he could have EASILY WON 2 Santa Anita preps and made a ton of money and been like POTN. I think this shows that he truly beleives in this horse.

Except that kind of contradicts everything Baffert's said, because Baffert on numerous occasions had said that he's sending the horse there to test him out and see what he can do on the dirt, which is probably a good idea. Don't think it will matter much because I think Dublin may just be better than these, but it's worth a shot to get him on the dirt and see what he's got. But I think Dublin is really tough here especially off that last effort which was phenomenal if you go back and really focus on his trip.

packerbacker7964 03-13-2010 04:42 PM

he said he Lucky was moving great around the track but the talk on the back side was that he's not looking for the win. Horse is not fully cranked up yet for a top effort. Horse looks great but others are saying he's not fully loaded. So he looks good but the "talk" says different. How hard is that to understand? Some people's childern.

I totally agree about Dublin thats why I said in another thread " this is the premire derby prep so far" these 2 are both really big guns, and could make a lot of noise in the big race.

knickslions2 03-13-2010 05:52 PM

Nice win by Lucky

Terrible ride indeed. Should have won this race

The 6 ran much better then I thought he could.... I still think Baffert and Lukas have 2 top top contenders for the Derby.

slotdirt 03-13-2010 05:56 PM

If I do say so myself, nice race riding by Nakatani...only to completely take your own horse out in the process. ******.

Are you surprised? Anyway hats off to lucky.

RockHardTen1985 03-13-2010 05:59 PM

I want Ntamm to comment on this... He likes Dublin and liked the jock switch, I did to, but this was HORRIBLE.

JerseyJ 03-13-2010 06:02 PM

Maybe Wayne can get Dominguez back for Dublin in the Arkansas Derby...he should be available after Super Saver's effort today...As bad as Thompson's ride was in the Southwest, this one might have been worse.

knickslions2 03-13-2010 06:03 PM

Just watched again...Lucky really came back strong

JerseyJ 03-13-2010 06:05 PM

Lookin at Lucky ran pretty good but I would have liked to have seen the finish had Dublin been given the ride that Lookin at Lucky was given.

They are both really good, why cant that be the case? One got a great trip and one got a horrible one.

Watch the replay. He ran more than pretty good considering how sharply he got bounced around and checked around the turn. I can't believe the Oaklawn race caller did not catch this in his race call.

Does Baffert own Oaklawn or what?

Wow, no. I just watched the replay, the headon especially he did get bounced. Still better then Dublins though, the premature move was A KILLER.

LARHAGE 03-13-2010 06:15 PM

Lucky almost got knocked down, how was that a great trip. Was that Nakatani that did that to him?

The race may have been a little harder than Baffert wanted considering the trip. Nice call by Baffert with the move to dirt. I wonder where he goes next: SA Derby, Bluegrass, Wood, or Arkansas Derby?

Arletta 03-13-2010 06:24 PM

I wonder who rides Dublin next
