Jazil=No Chance
According to the DRF, he's going to be closer to the pace, I agree with Mcglaughlin that he will be closer, because the pace will likely be softer, but sounds like they are going to put him even closer to the pace. I can't believe they are going to take the horse out of his game, that's usually disastrous. I think he will take some money, so that's a good thing...

In my opinion if I am wrong then oh well. Steppen has a better shot @ being closer to the pace on saturday for a closer, judging by his work. It's a matter on whether Pietz gives the instructions that way or if Robby A. thinks he is going to be be Pat Day...The usual take back. Just my opinion
|
The only reason Jazil will be closer to the pace is because they'll try to slow it on the front end to 50 and change for the half...Jz has no early speed whatsoever.

see the horsie run, see the horsie run fast at belmont, see the horsie run fast at belmont and almost catch the winner in the 9th furlong. |

I know I said he'd be closer because of the pace, but Mcglaughlin is saying they are going to be closer, because they are put him closer. I think that's a mistake to take a horse out of it's game.
Also, just because a horse is a stone closer, doesn't make him more effective at a longer distance, it tends to dull their kick if anything(Sun King has become a better closer at shorter distances as an example). I think we may have seen this comparing the Wood race to the Derby and I think he'll be less effective in the Belmont. |

If it rains and the track comes up sloppy, watch out because Jazil will really be flying at the end. Steppenwolfer is the more consistent closer of the two, but Jazil may be more talented, and just hasn't reached his potential yet. We shall see. I think that both of these horses will finish ahead of Bob and John.

Well, again I don't understand why somebody would start a thread to say a horse can't do something. All I can tell you is this little horse will not be going up and down.He will not be going sideways. He will be doing the same thing he has been doing(coming forward, coming forward, coming forward.)So,whoever is a quitter is gunna get found out.He may not be able to tag them all,but he will get by as many as he possibly can. So,I can tell you right now that if you hang ,he is gunna get your spot.He isn't gunna quit.Isn't gunna hang.He is just gunna keep coming for the best spot he can get. This is no quitter, and he sure does have some chance to win it.He is not like you think he is.He doesn't need a quick pace. Most raters will not keep persevering when their kick isn't particularly working that well.Case in point is the Wood.He is well beaten in there, and most raters would not have kept trying like he did.He is gunna get the best finish he can.Don't count on him quitting, cuz it ain't gunna happen.

i don't like jazil to win, but i would use him in any supers....
i think to say no chance is incorrect. all of them have a chance, just some have a better chance than others. |

My pick is High Finance, he's won over the track ran into 2 monsters and he might be the likely speed, if he's left alone long enough, I believe he gets it done. I'll also use Blue Grass Cat and Deputy Glitters in P3's and P4's. |
your points are well taken mwindu. again, if it ain't broke don't fix it. however, as horses mature, sometimes you can get them to change their style a bit. if he picks up a piece either way, than they didn't err.
we'll see on saturday. |

Can we please, pllease ,please stop writing that they came home slow in the Wood. Guess what..He is a very nice little horse.I have tried to tell everyone this, but most people just had something against him.All he has ever done is keep coming..keep coming..keep coming..

I noticed that the first three horses in the Belmont had white bridles. Right? I forgot to record it, so I can't watch it agin, though!!!!!!! Can anyone explain this to me????
|
yes, all three wearing white. all three trained by mcglaughlin and pletcher, both former assistants to dwl. lukas always had his horses wear white so he could find them easier on the track. they do the same as tribute to the guy who taught them much of what they know.
so, even with all the records, all the wins and eclipses, lukas' greatest legacy will be those who learned from him. |

Yep, I was definetely wrong! I never said he wasn't a nice horse. Kiaran should thank Oracles favorite little jock Gomez for this one, never would have know they would have gone that fast, but Gomez is a bone head. My buddy liked him, so we used him in the pik 4 and hit it, so I could care less if he won or not. He's a better horse than that hog Giacomo, so good for him, and I don't care that I was wrong... |
Can you tell me how this guy Milton is now all of the sudden a good pitcher? I mean if you're a Reds fan.Last year he was more of a Triple A pitcher getting beat up in the majors.

You gotta believe in your picks!! Nice job,Scuds,Hooves and the rest who had JAZIL!!

Hi - I'm new!
I think Barbaro would have beaten all these horses today! I'll bet there are a few here that agree with me! :) |
I toteally agree 100%. Barbaro won the derby by many lengths and no one could come close. he will be rememebred as great.
|
I agree with you too!!!! :)
Barbaro was SO cute in his stall with his sheet all signed and watching the race on the TV. I wanted to cry because he SO should have been running at Belmont today! |
When I saw him in his stlal when they showed it on TV, I wondered who he was rooting for in his absence. LOL !:D
|
I think he was saying "I could have kicked all of your asses"! :p
|
I think he said "I could kick your tail, but i'd rahter look at it".
I think he would have won by 100 leghts. |
Oh goodie trolls or 12 year old girls, havent decided which yet...
He'd have won by a thousand lengths...no a million <rolls eyes sarcastically> |
Kudos to Scuds and hooves. You had it right on.
It's a little late, but I'm starting to like Jazil! As Scuds said, the horse doesn't quit. Great one to use in matchups. --Dunbar PS--my "signature" applies particularly well to my Belmont bets. |
