This is great. I have a question that perhaps someone can answer. Why wouldn't KNS be a good claim in this race? She is very sound and very consistent. She earns her keep.
I would never question any racing related decisions made on her behalf. I am just trying to better understand the claiming game. Paul |
who's thinking about going?
|
I am going to try.
How is this going to work? I don't have an owner's license so I don't know if they'll let me in the paddock. |

DRF Closer Look
Race 3 By Jim Kachulis Early Hatch Ignore the last run when attempting a classic distance; more realistically placed today but is a newcomer to the course; that fact is somewhat negated by his respectable record at this trip; no match for Legal Motion when they met 5 races back, however. Kickin N Screamin Made a commendable middle move in the last race before fading to fifth; owns an exacta finish over the course but that was accomplished long ago but an interesting fact about that race: Mena was aboard; possible. Wanted Lady Has been trounced by some of these same rivals in recent times and has not accomplished much since that n2l victory way back in June; doubt that a sudden turnaround is in the wings. Serenity Lake All of her success has been achieved on the turf so the continued presence on the main oval remains puzzling; drops seven pounds from the last assignment, however, and perhaps that can help with this outing. Dr. Jenny No factor whatsoever in the last try and she finished far back in her sole attempt at route racing; seems out of her element as a result and cannot be endorsed for the top spot; minor spoils at best. Legal Motion Veteran rallier did not get into gear last time and may need a swifter early tempo today; the major shortcoming centers on the fact of a blank record over this course; that may change today though with all the stretchout sprinters who might set a far more lively pace. Mike's Honey Bunny A fairly steady performer who finally escaped the n3l condition; although off the board in all previous attempts over this track, some of those races were against far better stock than this; can be in the mix again under a rider who has been aboard her every time. Elliday That was a solid effort in defeat last time and although she has only one notch on his belt, he can be in the hunt against these more experienced foes; Borel stays loyal and therefore this lass is not out of the question. Candy I Am Flashed some fighting speed in the first start since leaving the maiden ranks but still appears a thin proposition at best today; will likely wilt under the early pressure of the multiple winners in this field. Wild Bushrose Beaten favorite moved to comand last time before quitting; shows a solid placing over this track but remains an outsider as a madien facing winners today; cannot recommended regardless of the pace picture. Handlethetruth Drops in half following fair route attempt at Keeneland; was in dire need of that outing and has a fair slate over this course; reverts to Albarado, the last rider to win with her, and is recommended for the trifecta at the very least. Our Trump Versatile racemare has a fine win percentage and seems realistically placed today; did not seem to like the soft course in the last run and is a much better performer than that effort would indicate; note: only local win was accomplished over a sloppy track. Echoes Resounding Lost serious ground in the last assignment and must somehow avoid that fate today; interesting possibility if one or more of the pure speed types happen to scratch allowing her a chance for the score. Not Me But U Her only win at this track was over a muddy surface and against soft n2l company; would need that exacta type of footing (which would cause several late defections in the field) in order to pull off the upset. Big Sis and Twins Deep closer may not get to the gate today and spots much in the way of experience over the course; the blinker addition in the last 2 starts does not seem to have helped all that much; prefer others on the AE list. Bubble Berry Has come close but has never won a route race pure and simple; would draw a miserable post if somehow breaking into the field yet still seems in the wrong neighborhood today; unlikely leading lady. |

Scuds used to razz Chuck about him. If I have time later, I'll find the old thread. It was some good stuff. |

When I was in Tampa I visited BB and was told by a very confident TC that she was going to run a big race and she did. Thanks to TC I was able to hit a nice across the board bet at 11:1. I also uploaded a bunch of pictures of Bubble Berry in the barn and her race. Bubble Berry's win was my first time in the winner's circle - it was me, TC and Socks - the poor owner probably got a copy of the picture and thought - who on earth is that?!! |
flight cancelled or delayed..... staying home, northwest airlines and delta SUCK ! Good Luck and safe trip KNS !

Third Race Analysis by Byron King (DRF)
1. Handlethetruth 2. Legal Motion 3. Kickin N Screamin Frontrunning HANDLETHETRUTH makes her second start off a layoff and returns to dirt, her surface of preference. She further benefits from dropping two notches in class - from $10,000 to $5,000 - for the red-hot Dale Romans stable. LEGAL MOTION, in contrast, has no early speed and figures to be rolling late. This is the easiest field she has faced since March at Turfway when she won for this price. Since that time she has raced mostly in starters, higher priced claimers, and allowances. 3-0-0-0 at Churchill, though. KICKIN N SCREAMIN came up empty in the stretch when racing at Keeneland last month in a $7,500 claimer, weakening to fifth. She takes a needed drop, and showed the ability to handle this track earlier in her career when second in a maiden $50,000 race here at 10-1 odds. |
As always a great effort by KNS. Good for 2nd
|
Congrats........
KNS nice closing 2nd! :)
|
no claims announced. Very nice run once again.
|
Was better saddling today says Chuck.. Ran through the dirt in her face.. Wire winners indicate she was against the grain too... Terrific effort... Mena was thrilled, says "She really tries". Also added how funny she is getting all keyed up before a race, but the minute she steps onto the track, she calms down and relaxes...
|
managed to watch the video here at work thru twin spires, my office manager was excited as well. once again, our feisty mare shows that she has no quit in her. great run for 2nd. nice to know she doesn't mind dirt!
