KNS is really going to run back in five days? A very aggressive move.

This doesn't sound like she had an easy race. So why run her back in five days?

This is either going to be very interesting, or do we have to find another jock?

umm. . .I thought she ran better with some time between her races.

While it is a bit unusual to wheel her right back the coming months dont exactly have many options for her to run at all. AP is closing, Kee is too tough, Hawthorne doesnt suit her very well, CD has nothing for her. While I havent decided on whether she will run Monday or not and probably wont until the morning of the race, she will most likely be getting a short break afterwards regardless.

The jockey situation there is a nightmare

Do we have the best chance of getting this jockey, because Aldebutante has the lowest odds (best chance of winning) of the horses he is listed as riding?

rpncaine 09-25-2009 06:56 AM

Isn't there anything at Hoosier coming up? Purses are nice and the strangles thing is over now.

I like it.

Benny Leger 09-25-2009 10:35 AM

sly move ???

Her gallop out was rather short Wed. night but she looked great after the race. I'm with Biggs...The mile on the poly Wed. night could have been a nice "tightner" for Jazzy to get her ready for what will most likely be a soft or yielding turf course on Monday. It's not like she'll be going back to back on a hard dirt surface. Like Chuck said...she's going to get a break soon anyway. Just out of curiousty what signs would tell you that she's ready to go again on Monday morning.

bring her east? or bigger chance of losing her that way?

Benny Leger 09-25-2009 10:40 AM

I just hope she knows how to make a right hand turn.

Going to give her the opportunity to kick TC. If she does, she runs, if she doesnt, she's out. Kinda like Groundhog day but more violent. Honestly as much rain as we have had, I am concerned that they will even run the races.

Generally, we meet at the saddling ring/paddock several races before our races. I'll be there... tall guy with the Derby Trail cap.

Aldeb is ready to go and Kickin was in attack mode this morning so it appears she is also ready. Hopefully the races go off as scheduled.

Hopefully, they both LOVE the soft (or yielding) turf.

Anyone know what time that will be determined and what is the fastest way to find out?

It certainly is a small world. I've been a lurker on the RTTD website for several years and I've enjoyed the insight and profited from some of the information, and for that I am grateful. I am also a regular user of the DRF stable mail. Several years ago I was a beer vendor at Arlington Park. On a Sunday afternoon I was working the picnic area and two ladies were having a wonderful time. We got to talking a bit and they owned a horse and he was entered today. They thought that he had a good shot and were eager for the race. Being an Arlington employee I could not bet during the day, although I regularly early birded several bets every day and watched as the races went off. Their horse ran a competitive race and finished second. He was also claimed by Frank Calabrese who Chicago area bettors know is the premier claiming owner in the area. I figured that if Frank saw something the horse should be added to my stable. The horse has had some modest success even though he was claimed from Calabrese a long time ago. I recently got the e-mail about the Kentucky Downs entry and when I was checking on the morning line I was surprised to see KNS in the same race. I guess now I have an exacta box to play tomorrow. Sorry if I bored you with the long post but I sincerely wish you the best of luck tomorrow.

Just spoke with the Racing Office, racing is definitely on for tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting those in attendance.

Kentucky Downs on Capital OTB network

For who live in the area that Capital OTB broadcasts thier network signal, you'll most likely will be able to see the races "live" or on a short delay. Monday is usually a slow simulcast day for them with the limited thoroughbred track running.

Mark,

Perhaps, but not according to their website... KD is not listed for today's coverage.

Of the two national networks, TVG is has Kentucky Downs.

Heels1989 09-28-2009 10:55 AM

Had planned to travel to the Downs today but the end of the Govt fiscal year has been insanely busier than past years. Safe travels to our two girls and all heading to Franklin today.

Thought is was one thier "racing calender" link......maybe just wagering only?

http://www.capitalotb.com/index.php?...hyme&Itemid=68

At least we can bet it thru COTB

SuffolkGirl 09-28-2009 11:48 AM

Best of luck to the DT girls and their entourage. Was hoping that Steve would be able to indulge us during the show and play these races on air - unless they don't run on time it looks like they are right at the breaks.

Hope everyone has a great time, I'll be watching and wagering on TwinSpires. I like the Pitts horse in Aldebutante's race - imagine the juicy payoff if I could get the 3/10 exacta!!

EDIT: I will have to really imagine it - just looked and the 1, 3, 4, 6 and 11 have scratched out

ddthetide 09-28-2009 02:40 PM

good luck and safe trips to our girls !
