Harold Carmichael Pictures from 9/5/09

Well, I have finally been able to come down off of the high from Rachel's Woodward race and managed to put a few pictures up of Harold Carmichael at Saratoga. I went over to visit him on Saturday at Saratoga. Harold is quite a character. He is very friendly but tends to think that everything in his grasp is a chew toy - he reminds me of a puppy! His stablemate Loyal Shadow is very very sweet. Kittylicious is also sweet and was curious about what all of the commotion over Harold is about.

I met Javier who is Harold's groom. Harold's barn name is Shorty. Javier was exceptionally nice and after my morning he visit drove my back over to the track, right to the barbecue in a golf cart. Boy did I feel special. I didn't get to meet Gary Sciacca but Javier was a wonderful host while I was there.

Here are a few pictures that I took:

and forgive some of the typos in the picutre titles...

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Harold's neighbor, Loyal Shadow is my filly and I love the shots you took of her.

She is a very nice filly. I enjoyed visiting with her. While I was taking pictures of Harold she kept playing with the top half of the door to his stall and was pleased with herself about being able to get it partially closed. I think she wanted to divert some of the attention from Harold to herself.

Best of luck with her.

Turned down on all three versions due to proximity to the real name. Plan B upcoming.

Not enough time for that. Have submitted more names. One should take.

We can have contests for the yearlings to name for next year.

Yes, but not sure how we'll structure things yet. There already is the NY bred filly which will be a stand alone offer, and then the yearlings which may be offered as a complete group or split up into two groups.

No.. Can't get one through along the lines of the original intent without a permission letter. May have something next week.

Beasley Reese and Herm E? Do you want the horse to have a complex?

Unstable 10-23-2009 02:04 PM

When I would visit him, I would just say, "Oh Harold," and he seemed to respond well with that.

If we can't have Harold Carmichael, how about Harold Jones? (Haven't checked if that is taken or if this is a famous/ infamous person, yet.) Or Harold Smarty Jones?

Danzig 10-23-2009 03:22 PM

laces front

either that, or 'fire zorn now'

31lengths 10-23-2009 03:53 PM

Not sure who actually get's to choose his name but while I am NOT an Eagles fan, I still think the name should be Jaworski or Jaworski Jones or something like that.
Also- Wilbur Montgomery or Bednarik.

Who else has a say in naming him?

AeWingnut 10-25-2009 09:59 AM

looking at the pics I would call Harold

Arrow Head

or

Aero Head

if Arrow Head was taken
