Big A 1st, hoping for a pace collapse, $20W 3

NTamm1215 04-19-2009 11:54 AM

I think it could start chalky but be decent in the back end.

5 with 5 with 4,5,6 with 3,7,8,9 with 7 with 1,2,7,8,9

Good luck!

Thanks, looked to me that this was the only one that close in this field, setup was perfect!

pointman 04-19-2009 12:10 PM

Dominguez currrently 14-1 on a horse cutting back and dropping, haven't seen him get those kinds of odds. Worth a shot at a win bet here.

philcski 04-19-2009 12:13 PM

R3, Persistently returns off the long layoff from the BCJF, it's been well documented what a key negative race that has been. Might be a good spot to stand against her in a pick 3.

2,3,6,7,8/2,3,4,5/2,5

pointman 04-19-2009 12:22 PM

Phil, this is a good time to take a chance against her as the pace flow doesn't seem to benefit her either. Having said that, she just may be better than these.

Early pk4

2- 2,4,6,8
3- 1,3
4- 2,5,8
4- 2,5,8

$20W 2

Good Luck!

R2 4,6,7
R3 1,3
R4 2,5,8

Cudo's to Eric Donovan for sniffing out the 3, took money in the double's and was bet down to 5-1. I know see he was morning line 5-1...

I am angry at myself for not using that one in the pk4. My instinct was to throw out the 7 and 8 and I ended up tossing the 3 for the 8 because of the money the 8 was taking. Stupid!

Thanks guys, not bad so far, but both races had angles for the horses. As Phil mentioned today was the day to take a shot against Persistently as the dynamics were totally against her and Southern Charmer figured to be the one to benefit from the dynamics. Was hoping to get the 3-1 to 4-1 that she was hanging around, but I will take 5-2 when a lot of money went to Persistently. Both the 1st and 3rd offered good opportunities today.

In the 4th, I have to agree with Andy here that the 5 is underlaid and the value is the 8 Upper Gulch at 6-1. $20W 8. GL!

Handicappy 04-19-2009 01:26 PM

Pic 6 adn pic 3 on the cheap

pic 6
2,5//2,5//5//8//3,7//7,8 = $32

pic 3
2,5,8//2,5,8//5,6 = $18

GL to all

fpsoxfan 04-19-2009 01:33 PM

Another good ride by Maragh. Wow. That likely destroyed a whole bunch of Pic-6 tix.

pointman 04-19-2009 01:34 PM

That was an impossible horse to have on top, looking at the rest of the card, one race run and a carryover already looks likely!

Handicappy 04-19-2009 01:34 PM

Unbelievable! 1st time starter loose on the lead and no one wanted a piece of it until it was too late. Good ride by Rajiv, again today.:zz:

Could be. Almost everyone was looking at the 2,5,8. I sure wish these riders had a better clock in their head. With those fractions, he wasn't coming back to them.

They let that horse walk for most of the race, but agree Maragh rode very well and has been riding well lately particularly at Aqueduct. Tough to go with a first time starter debuting on grass over a mile. Looks like there are some prices to be had today on a card that looks to over some value over it.

Rudeboyelvis 04-19-2009 01:38 PM

Nothing but trouble for the Half a Surprise - and nothing like rooting for a consol in the second leg :(

Off to the Downs - We've got TMZ in the last race - Good luck all

Agree, but there are some tough races late that are hard to narrow down. I bet there were a lot of tickets with some combination of 2,5,8 that went down the drain there.

What do you think of Coyoteshighestcall, the 2 in the 5th. He is currently at 9/1 with 3 in the bag at 1/4? And the 2 is one of those Dominguez cut back and drop horses.

I like More Than a Reason a little more, but Coyoteshighestcall should be right there as well and the race should set up nice for him, but he will come down a bit. It looks like the mystery $10K to win man is back (he did this with Three in the Bag I think 2 back and he won), but I think I am boxing 2,8 in the exacta here and hoping that they get Three in the Bag here. The one thing I am sure of is that I don't like Three in the Bag at 1-4, 1-2, even 6-5 in this race.

I have much the same thoughts as you however I don't like the 3 in the 7th. He's coming off a 4 month break, Morales isn't a very strong rider and Contessa isn't very good at getting horses ready to run on the turf. I love the 8, Deputyville who is coming in on a drop with easily the best late pace in the field and gets a positive joc change to Coa.

your right he came down.

pointman 04-19-2009 02:06 PM

Nice call Cappy, I am glad that you beat the underlaid Three in the Bag here.

The 9th is a real skullbuster if you ask me. You have the 8 who beat open company in the last and the 2nd and 3rd finishers last out ran well against the pace dynamics of the 4th race.

Then you have the 7 who had trouble early in the last and is coming up from Gulfstream as well but ran a sold race two back in Tampa.

Then you have the 1 and 9 who both ran smart races when they have gotten the opportunity to race on firm ground, the 1 goes for Bush who is certainly capable of winning off the bench and this one can certainly improve from 2 to 3 years old. The 9 goes for the red hot Donk on turf.

Then you have the 2 who runs for weaver who 3/7 going Dirt to Turf off the layoff at a 43% clip with the small sample with a $10.54 ROI for Weaver as pointed out on Talking Horses.

Then you have Debbie's Fast Girl who runs sold numbers each time out but may be just a little outclassed here but certainly not out of it.

:zz:

philcski 04-19-2009 02:07 PM

The 1 in the 6th is the heavy pick 3 favorite. The 5&6 both have run winning races so this is a little telling...

Handicappy 04-19-2009 02:08 PM

I think when Cornelio hit the breaks early he cost 3 in the bag the race. Dominguez gave him a perfect ride.

Ramon did a great job in the last, nice patient ride.

This pk4 is a skullbuster if he ask me. As Phil pointed out, you can't leave out the 1 here, certainly can't leave out the McLaughlin, Jello Shot is a T&T horse that can win this and Monte Carlo has a shot here too. I am not sure where to go short in a leg here!

You are right about the 7 and 8 in the 9th. The 8 should move forward off her last and has Dominguez on board for Tagg who has had a surprisingly terrible meet here. Chorus Music is the logical second choice and may love the firm ground going a little longer. If I went for a third choice it would be Debbie. Generally the shippers up from Florida are usually a good angle to consider this time of year. i think anyway.

I am not sure I like all the gate works though. That can mean a bit of a difficult horse sometimes. But Trombetta knows what he is doing with firsters.

pointman 04-19-2009 02:19 PM

I am going to try this and hope I get through the 7th:

6- 1,5,6,7
7- 8,9
8- 2,3,7
9- 1,2,7,8,9

$20W 7

Good Luck, I don't think this will be chalky. Having said that, it is time for everyone to play the chalk!

$10 to win on Elsie in the 6th. The jock change to Dominguez from Jackie Davis should move him forward although Jackie rode him very well last time out.

Dam you just got beat. I know Andy liked the 7 alot but he had the 5 on top of his picks today. Elsie didn't get it done but at least we are alive to the 7th. The 1 broke terrible which may be why Trombetta did so much with him in the gate. But he did well to finish 4th. Should be one to watch next time out.
