KNS (Now 7th race Wed. 3/18 likely)

Heard from Chuck earlier after Kickin N Screamin worked a sharp 5f under Cherie that he caught in 1:02.0. He was very impressed in with her effort which came without any particular urging from Cherie. She is edging closer to her return...

Riot 02-18-2009 03:31 PM

Wow - cool. That seems a good move for her.

NO GO FOR MONDAY... But, the race in question drew 7 and will be brought back tomorrow for Wednesday's card instead!

Riot 03-13-2009 04:44 PM

Zig - 7 1/2 hours from Atlanta to Florence ( 6 1/2 easy Cartersville to north Lex) - if you can leave 3am, you can eat lunch, see the race, catch a couple hours nap and be home midnight .... seriously, if you ever want to do this, I have a guest bedroom/full bath you are welcome to crash at ;)

Many Others 03-16-2009 09:49 AM

will be at work but am thinking can manage to watch during an adjusted lunchtime - weather is supposed to be real nice so should be a fun day for those attending -

on a completely unrelated note, noticed on the second page of the overnite this admonition, anyone know why tossing tongue ties is so serious as to warrant eight exclamation marks???

PLEASE DO NOT THROW TONGUE TIES ON THE RACETRACK !!!!!!!!

I think I remember Chuck mentioning that he did that at Keeneland and they were on it in a hot second. Tongue ties break down the polytrack - I think that is how it went.

or maybe the poly track tractor equipment can't handle anything ohter than poly track and horse poooooo

Maybe it creates a thick spot and could hurt horses

not certain

just guessing

Polytrack is ridiculous, the horses can't even 'dump' on the track because it screws everything up. There is a guy at Arlington that follows the post parade in a little 4 wheeler with a pooper scooper

ok, everything hurts polytrack
except rain unless it has a bad ph level
and sunshine that's bad for it too

They pick up the horse pooooo after every race, they do not let it mix into the polytrack as accumulating organic stuff would clog drainage, change the way the polytrack rebounds (acts when horse hooves hit it), etc.

I imagine a bunch of tongue ties thrown down on a regular track could screw up the harrows there, too, over a few days.

Good Luck

Good luck to everyone invovled with kickin'...

My friend HEELS owns a piece and I'll have a rooting interest...If she's the right price, I'll have a rooting interest...

Seems she has them over a barrel if she comes back in good shape...Hopefully Hector puts her in a good spot early and not too wide around the first turn...

May the fast horses be with you...

Caf

I think she settles and runs best with no horses to her outside i.e. her stretch runs at TBD (2nd) and AP (1st)...But that's just me. Safe travels to everyone coming in tomorrow.

otisotisotis 03-17-2009 08:47 PM

best of luck to all tomorrow. I will be (sorta) helping my wife bring the newest racing fan (and libtard, lol) into the world. but I'll have access and look forward to running updates.
Go Dee Tee!
