SWLY is on van back to track!

Chuck has picked up Sumwonlovesyou from Bluegrass Equine Center and is at this hour on her way to the Spectrum to resume full time training. Now 5 and away from the track since September 2007, the daughter of Came Home out of Mysterious Moll was clearly excited boarding the van according to Chuck. (Almost as excited as Bethani was to get her off the farm.)

SniperSB23 02-09-2009 01:16 PM

Awesome, would be great to see her race again.

Danzig 02-09-2009 01:34 PM

great, great news. can't wait for her return to the races.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-09-2009 02:36 PM

Sumwonluvsu(Turkish translation)

PeteMugg 02-09-2009 02:52 PM

Very good news. Sounds like she's anxious to get to work.

Let's hope all goes well.

pmacdaddy 02-09-2009 02:56 PM

VERY cool...

Bigsmc 02-09-2009 03:15 PM

Great news.

Thanks Steve.

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-09-2009 03:55 PM

Wonderful news! :)

2 Dollar Bill 02-09-2009 04:48 PM

Well the queenie arrived back to the barn safe and sound. She is a very hairy and a little chunky but looks really good. She will get clipped tomorrow before going to the track. Of course I have the honor of getting on the beast tomorrow, that is unless I can entice Bethani to come from the farm and play rodeo with her tomorrow!! Judging by what Steve said in the first post she probably wont except the offer. I will try to get some pictures of her and have them posted tomorrow. Your prayers on my making it back to the barn would greatly be appreciated.

when/if i begin praying again, you'll be at the top of the list.
good luck with her-sounds like you might need it.

Swale84 02-09-2009 06:34 PM

Great news that Sumwon's back in training, interesting that it's almost two year to the day since she became the first DeeTee purchase.

Cherie, I'm sure that you will get her back to the top of her game soon. I seem to remember that you and Chuck had to teach her many things when she first came into the barn

Riot 02-09-2009 09:38 PM

The original girl, can't wait to see her!

I think you mean fat....:) The boys have a hard time understanding that just because they are looking for more hay doesn't mean they actually need it.

She can be a begger. She already started in for the peppermints when she arrived. You should just beat those boys with a stick!!!

Danzig 02-10-2009 07:20 AM

hang a peppermint in front of her bridle when she's racing, a bit of an added incentive.

TheSpyder 02-10-2009 07:33 AM

I assume we are talking Churchill Downs, right?

How long, everything going reasonably well, will it take before she's ready for a race.

I for one will do everything to be there.

SuffolkGirl 02-10-2009 07:54 AM

Woo hoo! Great news. Can't wait to hear how the wrangling session went with Cherie and Sumwon.

Cherie said to hit the boys with sticks
Is it that big of a stretch to believe that may not occur?

How many times has she hit you with sticks?? ;)

paisjpq 02-10-2009 09:39 AM

I can't hit them, they already run crying to Chuck about the verbal abuse. Somehow they got the idea that he actually gives a sh*t.
They wouldn't have lasted the day @ some of my former jobs.

I've dropped a saddle on a grooms head once, yes on purpose. I was then threatened that I would have to go to anger counseling if I did it again.

He deserved it trust me. Sumwon, although tq'd (quite heavily) was full of herself. She came bouncing out of her stall and jogged with the pony. Nothing too exciting and we both survived.

No.. TQ'd = tranquilized. So they don't try to do too much because they're so excited to be out.

That's how she injured her knee to begin with... trying to do too much.
