No he isn't dead. his name is Casino Drive. You better pump those steroids into Big Brown 2 or 3 times over the next few weeks because Godzilla is going to stomp on your little big brown.


At the 1/16th pole Big Brown and Kent are going to learn a new word from Casino Drive's jock. Sayonara.

I would never underestimate what distance breeding can do for a horse in a race like the Belmont. I mean Casino Drive has Better Than Honour and A.P. Indy as his grandsire...what more could you ask for?

How far will it move him up? How far is being by Boundary going to bring BB back to the field going 12fs?

If Casino Drive had more than a two race foundation the arguement for his pedigree moving him up on a 3 furlong stretch out would be stronger.

Big Brown has shown the ability to rate - switch off - and he responds with almost push button acceleration when asked.

While a case could be made, on naked pedigree analysis, that CD moves up 2 or 3 lengths and BB regresses 2 or 3 lengths .. the lack of racing foundation by CD and the way BB runs almost totally offsets the pedigree stuff.

No one in this crop has a race that makes them competitive with any of Big Brown's races. That's what the problem has been for BB's rivals throughout this series.

The time to take a negative stance against BB would have been in the Derby before he firmly established that he could switch off - rate wide - and still run to his best form at a classic distance.

It seems like people want to invent Casino Drive into a monster because he has the same mother as the hopeless Jazil and Rags To Riches. His two races don't match up to this hype.

The way Casino Drive is being talked up of late and leading up to The Belmont, Big Brown may be the distant second choice in the race. ;)

Get ready to hear more of this nonsense. At another board I post at where most of the posters are logical, one joker thinks Big Brown will not run in the Belmont Stakes. I didn't respond to his assine post but I believe he was serious.

Free exchange of ideas is a good thing. I've learned a lot about handicapping and wagering through internet messageboards. I've also learned to be open about opposing ideas. But at the same time I've learned how to just laugh off insane rants by various jokers.

Big Brown will be 1-9. Take it to the bank. Casino will probably be 4-1, just like Rags. I suspect Casino will do to Big Brown what Rags did to Curlin. The better horse won't win this race but the better 12f horse will win this race. I don't think Big Brown will want that last 1/4.

As for people saying Casino won't be close enough to Big Brown, Casino is a stalker or a front runner. He will be glued to Big Brown the entire way and then we will find out who wants to run 12f. I think Casino will run a solid 226 time. If Big Brown can top that then he deserves to win. This isn't going to be some cakewalk though where Big Brown can run a 228 and win. A sub 110 beyer probably won't do it against Casino at 12f.

Big Brown is bred to run all day ... not sure why you think he won't get the 12 panels.

You can tell all this on a maiden score and the US debut? And why is Casino Drive going to run a 110BSF because his plodding half brother did? I am not sure Casino could or would beat his half sister at this point in their respective careers. I think Rags would be second choice if hypothethically she were to be involved. I have no clue how you can project Casino to be better then Rags or more to the point capable of beating Big Brown.

Jazil was very average and won a weak Belmont, although the time was decent IIRC.


Rags beat Curlin because of a slow pace, not stamina or outright ability. :p

It could be a good race. Brown has that huge tactical speed to go along with his huge ability and stamina.

He really isn't. He is by a sprinter. Maybe he outruns his pedigree but he is not a 12f horse.

whether or not he's a 12F horse, I don't know.
I do know he's going to win a big 12F race on june 7th.

I would suggest looking a bit further into his female family.

Look all you want. You better have it on top and bottom if you want to run 12f and beat a horse with Casino Drive's pedigree.
