Today...

29 putts yesterday...at least 34 today

herkhorse 05-09-2008 07:10 AM

I liked Els comment on 17:

"I think they should blow it up," Els said. "Everything you worked for in 4½ hours, in one shot it's all gone."

unless of course, you don't leave your wedge 20 feet short

exactly...as long as everyone is playing the same golf course, who gives a sh*t. Tee it up and play without b*tching, Ernie.

I was close. Kid has zero mental toughness under the gun.

I wasn't in Ponte Vedra, but it was EXTREMELY windy yesterday... and HOT!! Very difficult conditions.

We went on Thursday ... what a nice course.

Yesterday was definitely windy, though ... the course is playing very tough.

SCUDSBROTHER 05-10-2008 08:36 PM

That dog kind of looks like KOBE.

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-10-2008 08:48 PM

herkhorse 05-11-2008 06:49 AM

Another nice 3 put from 10 feet yesterday.

Goydos is hilarious, got to root for guys with no sponser.

Through 54 holes, Sergio has taken 17 MORE PUTTS than Goydos. The kid is an incredible ball striker...but on the greens he is beyond mental.

I will be pulling hard for Goydos today.

brockguy 05-11-2008 08:34 AM

will prob have a speculative bet on Appleby, but wouldnt mind seeing Sergio win it..

Come on bro...you gotta give up on this kid.

Anyone like him, that sits in a PGA Tour locker room and openly roots for a fellow competitor to miss a putt at the end of a tournament, deserves ZERO respect. There is a reason he is not well liked on Tour.

He may need more than that;)
How many times has he won? I remember him being one of the players featured in the book "A good Walk Spoiled". And that's about all I remember about him. Been around a while.

He's a single father with sole custody of his two young girls. Plenty of reasons for me to root for this guy.

That's good enough for me! Today could be a life changing day... I just hope Len Mattiace doesn't give him any advice:)

I was pulling for Goydos more then any other golfer today, really was. He is a breath of fresh air. Sucks that he took a dunk on 17, but man what is not too like about a guy who handles it like another day on the course. To be the 3rd shortest of the tee with only Funk and Pavin worse and to play the way he did props.

Kevin it says a lot about not having to be long off the tee does it not? Short game man.

2MinsToPost 05-11-2008 07:38 PM

One side note I REALLY hate to see Perry end up like he did.

Cajungator26 05-11-2008 08:54 PM

No me gusta Sergio Garcia.

brockguy 05-12-2008 01:17 AM

Well played Sergio, you deserve it!! :-)

if there is any consolation Kev, when Sergio exchanges the winner's cheque, it wont be worth nearly as much over here in euroland...

Hey Kevin ... if you ever get a second, I'd love to pick your brain about Ireland. We really want to plan a trip over there and I need a local's opinion. :)

Nascar1966 05-12-2008 07:42 AM

I wonder how many balls I would be in the water on 17? Its fun enough to play this extraordinary hole on a non windy day, but if you do have some wind buckle up it, might just get ugly. This is one of the holes I would to have that I played in golf.

GPK 05-12-2008 07:59 AM

Congrats to Sergio. Made some nice putts coming down the back 9 yesterday. I thought for sure his missed birdie on 16 would be his undoing. Fantastic up and down on 18.

Yeah. That's just it. The guy hit a big putt on Sunday for the first time in his career lol. I'm happy for him. If he ever can string together some putts when it mattersm watch out!

tied for the lead. yup.

Neck hit the tree, and then the pond. Playoff is the wrong time for that. Is he playing Colonial? Maybe he is gunna take that one again.

His caddy wanted him to hit the 3 instead of the 5:eek:

Had a chance to continue the playoff. Couldn't make that putt. He used to be able to putt better. That's what is missing.

SCUDSBROTHER 05-18-2008 07:57 PM

LOL..There is that mental weakling Villegas with a suck up 3rd....Damn, somebody got to tell that youngsta to MAN UP.
