DERBY NEWS: Denis of Cork makes field; 'Bar' to Preakness
Wow!
Yes!!
News flash: 'Bar' back in Derby
Just got off the phone with Satish...
He said after his cup of coffee, he logged on to Cal Racing this morning and watched 'Bar' run up the track behind the great Autisim Awareness in his dirt race... That performance has embolden him to subject his horse to his obligatory triple crown race beating in the Derby instead of the Preakness. "Getting beat 15 lengths in the Derby instead of 12 in the Preakness allows us an extra two weeks to freshen him up for a Swaps Stakes showdown with El Gato Malo" Satish said. |
Awesome! Although I think Behindatthebar deserves to be in it more than Cowboy Cal if we're talking Pletcher trainees.
There goes any chance of an all Pletcher trifecta....
Sweet! Now I can just let my futures ticket ride and enjoy the show...
Steve - did you see Denis' workout today?
anyone know where you can $86,000 worth of hotel rooms?
I'm sure the Days Inn in Jeffersonville isn't full yet. Heck, Mr. Warren could probably buy the entire hotel for less than $86,000.

great i have him at 46 to 1 in future bet:p

Bel Air Sizzle, a 3yo filly, won a 1 1/16 turf n1x race on April 24 (Thursday), and she ran second in the Melair S (1 1/16 on Cushion) at Hollywood Park on Sunday, promoted to first on the dq of the first finisher. A mare in Britain won 2-mile hurdle races on successive days at Ayr a couple of weeks ago. And he's worried about 3 races in 30 days?
Steve..keep this up and we gotta start thinking Pulitzer Prize.
Great Job! |
Got me an extra $100 at 41-1 before odds tanked. Thanks for early heads up!

just put a nice little sum on Denis at 50-1 on betfair.. Him or Colonel John winning would be a nice Irish touch in the Derby..
I've got a future wager on the Oakland Raiders and I am about as excited as you guys. Good luck.

I don't know if Cowboy Cal can't be a dirt horse.
His dam is a Seeking The Gold half to Behrens... and he's very closely related to Commentator. As bad as he ran in his debut - he did have a tough trip and it did have the look of a non-effort through the stretch. I just don't think he projects well at all from a pace standpoint - and the 10f distance is a little much. |
*RIIIIIPPPPP! Crinkle Crinkle, toss*
[sounds of Cowboy Cal future tickets everywhere] |

For a minute I thought the Cav's tailgate website you have in your signature was run by the legendary bar I worked at in Philly... Cavanaughs in UC.

I guess I could have a shot if something like a Z Fortune or Denis Of Cork hits and I use them - and catch something underneath - but, you've got to play to win. There is no doubt in my mind I win the whole thing nationally, regardless of what anyone else does, if I use Cowboy Cal and he somehow wins the race. |
