Official Derby Top 5
In Order....
1. Cowboy Cal- love the pedigree, love the running style, i think he gets a dream trip in the derby 2. Court Vision- think the wood was better then ppl think, and he should get the fast pace to run at/ at the begining of the year he was top 3 on most ppl's list's, now with 2 3rd's under his belt, everyone think's he's just slow. i am willing to give him another shot, in the key 3rd back, at a price. 3. Colonel John- I loved his last, and he has never done a thing wrong. should sit mid pack and fire big, question is the surface, and i think he will be a bit overbet. 4. War Pass- just watched the replay of mark and mike on down the stretch, and some of there comments intrest me about war pass... i think he could get the distance, and he should be tons fitter for the derby, then he was for the wood. remember he only worked once after the tampa debacle, and he got nothing out of that race. i think its easy to belive he was a short horse in the wood, and still ran very fast early, and was game late. 5. Monba- won nicely already at churchill.... and is another 1 who was top 3-5 on EVERYONES LIST coming into this year, he got destroyed in the FOY, and ppl kind of forgot about him, but he really has not done anything wrong, and came back strong yesterday. make it the debry Top Six Cool Coal Man.... i forgot about him |
i would also like to point out... besides colonel john, i dont think i am touting a horse that will be under 8 or 9-1
|
and i would like to point out you're touting 25% of the field.
love that you point out how everyone forgot monba after the foy but pyro is now a write off. makes sense. |

i will be making a win bet on Cowboy Cal. which i thought is obvious with the # 1 ranking, i did put in order on top. 5 deep to end all pick 3 and 4 |
do you normally finalize your derby wagers by April 13th?
|
have you decided on how to structure the rest of your pick 4 ticket 3 weeks out?
i mean since it's apparently ending with 5 selections, which race are you going narrow on? do you have a single for us? |

i like your dedication. it doesn't matter if colonel john hates dirt. his works are immaterial. you'll include him. makes sense. keep me posted on that single. |

You know what's not weird? Is the fact that you continue to make weird posts. |
Quote:
but ever since pg came back you could depend on a post after a prep was run that he liked the winner in the derby. sometimes the second place runner. just wait for the lexington and see. |

If he didn't really believe it, it wouldn't be so funny. Cowboy Cal...heh.
|
In order....but subject to change!
Colonel John Smooth Air Pyro Visionaire Monba |
who the hell makes their picks this far out from any race? jc, you wonder why people give you a hard time, and then you give your supposed picks for a race three weeks out. you've got to be kidding. why the hurry?? shouldn't you wait to see what the horses do when they actually arrive at the track? how well they work? if they shipped well, eat well....who draws what post? the weather, the track, how the early races are run, and if there is any bias detectable?

people who want internet bragging rights that they were there early. on that subject i have dibs on recapturetheglory for last. i don't care how he trains. i don't care about his post. i don't care if eight belles runs. i want the bragging rights on this one. |

At this point I don't see a legitimate favorite. I'll be looking at Tomcito, Bob Black Jack, Smooth Air. Horses with longer odds.

no, and i really do listen and value what you guys say........i am just a little pissed, i had a horrible betting weekend, just missed cowboy cal, hit 2/3 in multiple pick 3's, did nothing with the pick 4's, needed a 2-5 shot for a double 50 times and missed that today. just a bad weekend overall. |

i have narrowed it down to the derby top 3...............
cowboy cal court vision war pass |
Quote:
I don't understand. You like Court Vision because you think the pace is going to be wicked in the Derby, but then.. You like War Pass, too? Won't he be the one setting that clip? |

Jcs, Your going to get crap either way with the way you post. Your picking three weeks out for a race whose field is not known yet. You know not the weather, post positions, jockeys( a jockey could incur an injury in the next three weeks) weather or track condition. If you lose your a complete idiot for picking your horses three weeks out. If you win, your a idiot who finally got lucky. You don't seem to understand, your going to lose either way. Wait until they at least draw the derby and then make your picks. Even if your wrong, youll get alot less flack.
