The Wood

Shame that the weather could ruin this thing.....If track is not a "slop fest," it's a great situation for Court Vision.

the_fat_man 04-03-2008 06:58 PM

I think it'd be DELICIOUSLY IRONIC if the weather ruined the event. Especially if there's a speed bias as a result of the rain.

Cajungator26 04-03-2008 07:03 PM

I thought this thread would be about Doug and his sock.

Phooey.

Let's hope the 'weather' doesn't get any worse for his sock.

Mott's rabbit goes out and wears down War Pass.

The Indomitable DrugS 04-03-2008 11:34 PM

It must make Mott just sick to have to sacrafice Inner Light after he's turned this 690K run off 2yo buy (by Songandaprayer out of a Carson City mare) into a horse that can rate and stay. But Inner Light isn't much.

IEAH stables also owns the very speedy Big Brown - if they are able to cook War Pass in this race - it might be hard for Zito to run him in the Derby off of back to back sub par efforts.

If Mott really does get Inner Light on his toes - War Pass might have to be much the best in order to win. However, against that God-Awful field, War Pass could run open lengths below his 2yo form and still might win.

Not another BC type slop fest on a cement like sealed surface. How awful.

philcski 04-04-2008 11:26 AM

not raining here now, and the majority of the rain looks like it will skirt to the south. probably will be fine tomorrow.

Yeah, let's run it on rubber instead. That'll be fun AND a great gauge for the Derby!

sumitas 04-04-2008 12:23 PM

I'd rather watch Keeneland than slopfests.

Oh that place.
The place where horses work harder because of the surface and tire out in the stretch weaving in and out just to get disqualified.

Ah yes, Keeneland, where we run historic Derby preps like turf races! Can't wait until the Derby is on tires man. Anything to get rid of those "awful slopfests".

Chill out anyway, the track will be fine tomorrow.

jms62 04-05-2008 01:01 PM

No super in the Wood. 10 Horses but no Super. The NYRA is a rudderless ship.
