Marcus Hersh Predicts "sumwonlovesyou' A Loser At Arlington.

Mr Hersh handicapper for DRF who apparently attended and graduated from the Barry Bonds Charm School as evidenced by his memorable grunting nanosecond contributions on ATRAB pertaining to FG and both Chicago venues as he has predicted in tomorrows DRF that SWLY will run out of the money in the 8th race at Arlington tomorrow in a evenly matched mile allowance contest for Fillies and Mares 3 years and up over the cushion track scheduled to commence at 5:28 EST.

Despite a Beyer edge over all 9 other contestants and improving performances over each of her last 3 races SWLY has obviously left Mr Hersh indifferent to our girl.

Such brillant predictions were last heard from Chicago's #1 racing expert during his last interview on ATRAB when he was late to the gate that Friday afternoon last winter displaying insight about a Saturday stakes card at FG that would best be described as a colection of unfinished sentences strung together by innane and banal logic that left racing fans speechless as Mr Hersh, barely on the air for a 5 minute segment, declined to wait for a commercial break to inpart further predictive genius, as he obviously was late for an interview with the Green Monkey who he has winning several Grade 1 stakes prior to perceptable changes in the tides from Global Warming.

I think Steve should have this handsome devil on the show Friday so "Sumwon" can share her feelings with Marcus after she leaves Arlington as the winner of the 8th tomorrow.

Ever since that ATRAB segment I have always wondered if somehow Hersh is jealous of Byk's success or perhaps he is just a socially inept human being who writes for a living so he doesn't have to burden himself speaking to others.

I would love to hear what the board think's about this guy. So what does the Mensa of horse racing here at DT have to say about his published opinion in tomorrows form.

a horse's talent is decided on the track...not by her selection in the form....he is paid to give his opinion and he is a sharp guy....and perhaps you don't know the whole story.

DD,

LOL.. Easy on Marcus.. I love Hersh.. LOVE him! Everybody at DRF loves him. He's funny, smart and fresh and his sardonic appearences on ATR always amuse me. He's hardly jealous of me either as I'm still pretty sure he has no idea who I am.. His laying off SWLY may have been done to help keep her price square as a favor to us... ;)

We can change that on Wednesday, connections my friend, connections

Handicap (Elliot Safdie), Hermis (Bill Howard), and Sweep (whoever?) all have Sumwon on top in their selections. Mr. Hersh is either the only one who is correct, or VERY, VERY WRONG. I guess we'll see on Wednesday.

I have to second this, Marcus seems like a cool guy and I enjoy his sense of humor at the Saturday handicapping sessions at the track. To his credit he does sometimes go in creative directions when he makes his selections, and makes a concerted effort to find something other than the chalk. yeah I often disagree with him but that's true for most others as well.

The one predictable thing about him is he seems to be in love with any runner that Chris Block sends out. Marcus will always select a Block runner if one is entered in a race, of course Block does enjoy great success at AP so its not without reason.

I wouldn't read anything into him not selecting Sumwon to be in the money. It won't be the first time he was wrong!;)

I think, with the other DRF handicappers putting her on top, Sumwon's price will not be square. If her price is square, I think we can thank Todd Pletcher for entering his horse in this race. If Pletcher's horse wins, we can add a few curses to those thanks. I don't think that happens, but the time off and the Arlington poly is a concern (but hey, I'm a worrier).

When she hits that stretch in the lead, you need to flip your hat around backwards so she wins this time!

The last thing you need to worry about is getting her home. I am the king of getting horses home at the top of the stretch, all I need is my program and my right leg....

Scav to the rescue... I guess that's what we needed at Churchill.

I would, however, not mind hearing and Sumwonlovesyou with a marauding move down the center of the track

its just that I translate wide and hopeful run to mean, too wide, and hopeless.

but it would also be good if she were to be "produced" down the center of the track.

I think everyone who does not feel this horse is a lock tomorrow should be drawn, quartered and beheaded and have their head placed on the entrance gate into Arlington.

There can be no sympathy for the jealous!

What a vicious attack on a guy who is just giving his opinion of a single race.

I've seen attacks like that before...on our horse.
I guess it's like we stick up for our own.
Little over the top...maybe, but for 60 Dee Tee members - this is our girl!

Go Sumwon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

It would be VERY GOOD to see Sumwon win. We agree with that.

The whole thing is a joke folks with its references to the Green Monkey giving an interview ( a popular fantasy subject here) winning a grade 1 for a horse who hasn't run yet while GM set a record for horse sales that I thought the irony was obvious.......nanosecond interviews and Global Warming time clocks......commenting on Hoss's suggesting that I had lost my mind was solid evidence that this was a spoof.

It was all humor people, and maybe it says more about the fact that I rarely joke here that it wasn't seen as such but the Wed. selections caught my eye at about 700 AM when I picked up my Wednesday form and I thought it was interesting and combined with owning a piece of her myself I thought I could have some fun with it......sorry if you really believed I was serious saying that Hersh actually interviews horses.

I thought it was an interesting observation given every other expert pick in the form had SWLY as an obvious winner I thought it was an opportunity to be a bit of a homer with MY horse. I'll bet Hersh would probably laugh as Steve did "lol".

If a Yankee fan makes fun of the Red Sox it is seen as a biased opinion given the loyalty of the fan to New York why can't an owner have a little fun defending his horse.

A deep breath and a smile will change the perception of all of this......
