SUMWON: Game 2nd in Thriller..
 

The Friday race intended for Sumwonlovesyou DID NOT FILL... Only 4 horses entered .. There remains a 'more than good' chance however, that they will run the race Saturday provided the racing office can hustle a pair of route-going missies.. Wanted to let those planning to travel to Louisville know immediately..

On the plus side, SUMWON galloped smashingly today, and for the third time in three "race weeks", later on broke free and got loose in the shed row... Strangely, she has now done this the week of EACH of her Dee Tee starts and no other times... Chuck says she's feeling really good...

More as we know it.. Sorry for the inconvenience/confusion, but this a part of the game..

SWLY is scaring away the others, they want no part of her.:)

If they card a race tomorrow (for Saturday), do you think it'll be in the first half of the card. I need to be out of there by about 3:30...that's the only reason I ask.

It sounds to me like Moonee Ponds must have gotten the word out among the other 3yo fillies that messing with Sumwon is a big mistake.

tony let me know, as i was still at work when the news came down...so thurs/fri reservations at hotel now changed to fri/sat--thank god for internet...no, wait..thank AL GORE!;)

Just realized that on Fridays now, Churchill is running "twilight" racing - the first post on Friday isn't until 2:45pm.

we had to cancel our flights because we were to leave saturday afternoon. IF saturday fills we'll drive friday. haven't changed the hotel yet.:(

Yeah, do you believe it? I wanted to meet all the DT partners that are coming for the first time, too! I'm off W-Th-Fr, have to work Saturday noon to six (and nobody else to take it :( ), then off next week ... oh, well ....

if the race for Friday wouldn't fill, why would it fill for Saturday? is it a different race?

I really hope Chuck gets her in a race because I would have tried harder to get out of this wedding I am in (in Louisville) had there not been the prospect of a race this weekend!!! :D

Prospects look better this a.m. with CD racing office trying to combine a pair of races to get a field.. Means a "3+" group, but she needs a race NOW..

that looks like the 11th race in the condition book... they probably won't bump that up early in the day, it's right after the Louisville Handicap... Chuck needs to pull strings and get that race pushed up to one of the first 5 of the day!!! :p

Will be determined by amount of runners.. If 6-7, probably goes off earlier (5th or so?). Fuller field could stay on as nightcap..

Now, now, there may be some confusion here between the time-proven race course tradition of bewitching the opposition via the wearing of lucky underwear, and another fascinating life situation that also involves the words, "underwear", "lucky", and "a bit too far" .... ;)

My goodness, I could rent the Skylane over at St. Charles Co. Airport and fly to Montreal to Louisville and back for less than that!!! :eek: For your sake alone, I hope she runs!

The number of the race in the condition book is not necessarily directly related to the actual race number the race will be on race day.

Include one or two races being used that have been re-hung on the overnight, or one or two off the sub list in the book and you'll see why the race numbers don't correspond.
