Tampa Bay Beyers

Street Sense and AGS both earned 101 BSF's yesterday.

I thought it would be higher given the time, but I didn't look at the charts to see how fast it apparently was at Tampa.

pointman 03-18-2007 11:54 AM

Anyone get Curlin's Beyer yet?

blackthroatedwind 03-18-2007 12:01 PM

Curlin got a 97.

randallscott35 03-18-2007 12:03 PM

A shame Pitts doesn't have the chance to campaign this horse. Easier to root for her.

Now will that be downgraded to an 85 should he run third in his next start?

pointman 03-18-2007 12:04 PM

Thanks BTW, thought it was a pretty impressive performance for a second start.

Nothing like those hundred Beyers producing track records. Reminds me of the turf track at Gulf giving us a new track record week after week that barely breaks a hundred beyer sometimes. Like 1:32 for a mile on turf and then a 102 or something. Haha....And at Tampa, how often do any quality horses run there and then how often do they run 8.5 furlongs.(I need to hand time this race anyway, as the mile click was like 1:33 or something which obviously was a misprint) That number might be slower than a 2 thoro now that I look at it including the trip. Surely not negative. On to the Bluegrass! Can a Polytrack last prep race produce a Derby winner. Stay tuned.

I actually thought it might be a little lower when you compare his time to that of an optional claimer for 3YOs a couple races earlier. Regardless, as you say, it was a pretty impressive performance for a second start. Plus, he didn't come out cleanly, and didn't earn it getting loose on the lead.

Terrific horse who unfortunately debuted at the wrong time. The rush to the TC always does a horse like this in.

Normally I would agree but Showing Up was rushed and ran very well the rest of the year....Of course I'd much rather have a horse with Tagg than the assman.

It worked pretty well for Street Sense in the fall.

But of course. Hey the Bluegrass is a Grade 1. All he needs to do is win that. Then I get to sit in the corner.

Stop worring about whether you'll be eating crow Randall.

Now you know what it feels like with your back against the wall. Get over it.

The Beyer guys will come out in about a month and say they goofed and downgrade the beyers they gave out.

The don't do it that often, to be fair but it does make you wonder if they should do it more often. And the Magical Ride race(I think that's it) from last summer was lowered like 30 points. That's inexcusable.

And was it not stated recently that Thoro, and others have had this same occurance? If so, lets move on from this one. Its getting old.

Picked out any "lshots" today Rand? I'm looking.

cmorioles 03-18-2007 12:50 PM

Actually, that Magical Ride race figure was very excusable if you know anything about making figures and tried to make them for that day.

Nope but you just hit for a 54 dollar gain at Gulf. I'm getting nervous.:) :)

30 points. Yes the variant was difficult. But that isn't 10 points. That's a pole and a half difference.

What the hell is $54. bucks when you are $400+ freaking dollars ahead. Don't toy with me, I feel faint.

The race was for a field of horses with no history, run at a rarely run distance that for some reason was running fast, most likely the run up. Beyer has to make a figure within a few days per contract, so he can't wait for the horses to run back.

Also, the change was around 20 points, not 30, which is about 6 lengths at 5 furlongs. That is no pole and a half, and shows me you aren't really familiar with making numbers.

You are 350 behind. Another big day and it could be down to 250. I just peed my pants. LOL

LOL, it was more than 20 I think. And I was exagerrating for sure. 6 lengths? C'mon. I highly doubt that...But I know how Thoros are made. I don't put much into Beyers which the Valid Video race and Shake You Down race at the Spa convinced me of.

Change rightaway, I thought that was a problem for only the elderly. I don't want you getting a rash. Not to mention that its terribly unbecoming to those with you.

I wear the astronaut deal when driving long distances to mace people.

Yes, this is an astronaut who wore a diaper for 900 miles in an effort to save time for stops, apparently. One would think she possessed knowledge of gas milage, as in "damn lady, you every seen a car get 900 miles a gallon"?

On the mission of her life, blinded by fury. Now, no job. That fury deal'll get ya.

randallscott35 03-18-2007 01:16 PM

Grits yet another exacta in Race 3 at Gulf. You are on fire.

I think people were hard on her. She didn't do anything to her really. She needs some help. Get her help, let's not put her face on the front of the paper and call her "Astronut."

randallscott35 03-18-2007 01:18 PM

Last I looked Magical Ride's 102 was lowered to a 68. Thats 34 points. I was low.

20 points at 5f on Beyer is 6.5 lengths.

Seriously, if you didn't know that was in the ballpark, I'm not sure how you can then knock the figures like you understand them. You don't.

Look above your post please. That's what I remember.

cmorioles 03-18-2007 01:28 PM

It was lowered from 102 to 92. Are you intentionally giving out misinformation, or just posting whatever pops in your head?

You are dead wrong on that. I remember it distinctly when. 10 points, you just said 20 a minute ago....Someone who has the race in October I believe from DRF would have it in front of them. I don't.

cmorioles 03-18-2007 01:31 PM

It is in fact lowered to 92. I have the Feb 28 PPs in front of me, when she ran at GP. I said around 20, as I was guessing, but I'm not now. I knew it was not 30.

Look, they upped it then after lowering it. I can honestly say I remember it being between 68 and and 75 when she was in the race in October I believe...If I'm mistaken I apologize. As I said before I don't use Beyers anymore so I'm going strictly on memory of it from the fall.

randallscott35 03-18-2007 01:36 PM

I'm wrong. Sorry I just found an article that it was lowered by 10 as you said. Sorry about that. 10 is not that much considering the variant for that day and the distance. Sorry.

cmorioles 03-18-2007 01:40 PM

It was never lower than 92, I have them all databased. Not a big deal really.

Was there a race in the 60's in her PPs. Maybe that's what happened. Either way, I was way off on that.
