One things for sure, if we beat Oregon, beat Bama twice, beat Arkansas, beat Georgia, go undefeated, then we will be the undefeated, undisputed, national and BCS champs this year. Any other scenario leaves some room for speculation. I would forewarn GA and Bama that Les still has at least a couple dozen crazy ass plays he has been waiting to use all year.

Maybe if Bama goes out and wins 27-7 or something. But a close win would tell me that the teams are just about equal and a split of the title would be appropriate.

HIghlight my last sentence instead of my second to last. I thought Alabama was better despite losing, it came down to 4 missed field goals to zero missed field goals that game. So yeah, LSU had better kickers than Bama and deserves the number 1 ranking. I just think the winner of the last game should be national champion. It's called the national championship game...sort of like I view the 2007-2008 NFL season, the Patriots went undefeated and beat the Giants in the regular season, but in the Super Bowl the Giants won and thus were the champions. I think the first game was played evenly enough that the second game should determine the champion. I think Bama would deserve it more because they won the game called the national championship game.

Georgia then getting crushed by someone outside of the SEC in a BCS game. That would be AWESOME! Then why don't we have all the past Heisman Trophy winners vote for who becomes National Champs. I think that would be the only fair way to settle it

If Georgia beats LSU, then either LSU or Alabama are out of the BCS bowls as you can't have more than 2 teams from 1 conference.

I dont think that would make a difference if LSU stays at #2.

Not exactly true

If there are 2 teams from same conference ranked #1 and #2, but not the conference champ, they go to the NCG. And the conference champ (team #3) wins the conference champ and is granted a BCS game as well.

Ex: LSU plays Georgia for SEC title. If GA beats LSU (very close) the human and computer polls probably will drop LSU to #2, moving Bama up to #1. That gives the SEC the ranked #1 and #2 teams, and then GA is the SEC conference winner, making them BCS bound.

Whoops my mistake.....just had to read the next paragraph for eligibility. Carry on.

Seems like a pretty big money scam if it would happen that way. 3 teams from the same conference in BCS games would mean a lot of $ to the SEC.

Consider 4 of the actual (not ranked) top 6 are probably actually SEC teams it is not too bad...

Ok, I'll bite - who's the fourth?

Alabama and LSU are going to play in the "championship" game, but I will never be convinced Alabama deserves to be playing rather than a one loss conference champion. The fact that Alabama couldn't even win their own division should automatically disqualify them from playing in the nonsense BCS "championship" game.

Still, if LSU wins out, the BCS will move along, business as usual.

slotdirt 11-30-2011 08:32 PM

Also, bet you dollars to doughnuts that if LSU wins this weekend and Okie State figures out a way to really play strong against OU that the voters figure out a way to tighten up the divide between Ok State and Alabama. Maybe not enough to avoid the rematch like 2006 and 2007, but a lot closer than one would think.

Alabama is absolutely a great team, but their actual body of work just doesn't match up with Oklahoma State this year in terms of quality of opponents.

...No, not really. It seems there is some denial about who the best two teams are in the country, and it is very clear. Now, we all know the system sucks. A playoff is the only thing that will fix it. What will be said when 4 of the final 8 teams left in the "playoffs" are from the SEC? It probably will happen more than not.

RockHardTen1985 11-30-2011 08:59 PM

OK ST is garbage, omg. Im so sick of hearing about them, they get beat as a 30 point favorite, recently. Why are we even talking about them? I would rather see Va Tech vs LSU then OK ST.

Yes, them and Wisconsin Whitewater are the entire SEC of division 3. They do playoffs actually to play for the championship every year. Crazy stuff those playoffs!! 6 straight years they've gone at it...stands at 3-3.

Right now, UGA belongs up there.
Bama cannot win their division because it is THAT division.
