His damside is typical of a Ned Evans homebred. His dam was a 3x route winner and has already produced 3 other route winners. City Zip, of course, is a half to Ghostzapper and has produced numerous route stakes winners on turf and dirt. If Dance City gets tired late it will be because he had to chase very fast fractions, not because of his pedigree IMO.

I want Dance City to be an also-ran/bridesmaid in the Preakness, Dwyer, and Jim Dandy so I can get a decent price when he makes his turf debut in the National Racing Hall of Fame Stakes at Saratoga.

Just read about Mucho Macho Man's work this morning. I've been wanting to play against, but the DRF article painted a pretty nice picture of the effort. Did anybody happen to catch his spin at Belmont this a.m.?

Why play against? He is the most likely winner of the Preakness.

I like Machos chances but Dialed in is going to very dangerous in this one

Dialed In is going to be a terrible bet for the second time in a row. i like Sway Away price-wise. I want to like Dance City, but the pace scenario worries me. I'll still use him.

Same here... he ran big in the Arkansas Derby...

As long as he gets over the cold he got from the gust of wind created when Animal Kingdom ran right by him in the Derby.

Bad news for you and Hockey, that is where I'm leaning too

Isn't the Preakness more or less a favorite's race though? When was the last time a true longshot won the thing? Would Louis Quatorze qualify somehow?

Bernardini paid $27.

Hmmm. You think AK is going to repeat that race huh? You get all of 2-1 for that. Enjoy

Nick's opinion is significantly better than yours.

Gosh I hope so.

Certainly an anomaly though. No? Wasn't he the second choice at that number too?

No, not the second choice, but overall I have no argument with the post I answered. It is generally a relatively formful race.

I don't recall Louis Quatorze being that big a price (still double digits, however), even though he was far back in the Derby. Aside from the already noted Bernardini, the only other double digit winners that I recall in recent years were Charismatic and Red Bullet.

The part of your assessment I referenced was that Mucho Macho Man is the likeliest winner. I can't see on what basis you can offer that opinion.

Whether AK is a good bet is a different issue altogether. That was neither something I mentioned nor something you brought up in your initial post.
