Next for Peppers Pride may be a start in the New Mexico Racing Commission Handicap at Sunland Park on December 14. Allen and Marr are undecided on whether to keep Peppers Pride in training next year or breed her.

Peppers Pride, the undefeated winner of 18 consecutive races, could call it a career after running next month in the $125,000 New Mexico State Racing Commission Handicap at Sunland Park.

The connections of the 5-year-old mare met Monday to discuss whether to race or breed her next year, and while no decision was made it was agreed to keep "investigating" the stallion options for her in both Kentucky and the Southwest region, said Joel Marr, who trains Peppers Pride for Joe Allen.

"We're leaning toward breeding her, but it's not definite," Marr said Monday. "We're just going to see how she is the next few weeks and decide. We'll probably make a decision sometime between now and the race at Sunland."

Peppers Pride will be going for her 19th straight win when she starts in the Racing Commission Handicap on Dec. 14.

Peppers Pride, a daughter of the Fappiano stallion Desert God, set the modern North American record for consecutive wins with her 17th straight on Oct. 4, and padded it on Sunday, when she won the $177,615 Filly and Mare Championship. Both races came against New Mexico-breds at Zia Park.

I couldn't be more excited for her...almost as excited as Duke beating up on Presbyterian. Oh well...Cigar and Citation will ALWAYS hold the record in my eyes.

I hope Hang Glide is in her next race and wins :)

If people aren't cheering for Hang Glide this time, I will be forced to assume that they hate not only every horsey on the planet, but also every living thing in the entire universe. Only really big meanies would wish bad things on her so close to Christmas....which I happen to know is her most favorite holiday.

I don't know why you like Hang Glide so much. She gets in with a light weight and is ridden by some old Roman dude.

I'm not sure if it is the Roman statesman Mark Anthony or the Latin pop star (and J-Lo spouse) Mark Anthony that has the mount. Either way she is sure to win easily, and you are now on the official super-meanie list for making fun of her.

Not sure of the purse breakout, but I believe if she just hits the board she becomes a lifetime million dollar winner.

You would need to look at one of the fat man's charts to really grasp what an amazing, astounding, race Hang Glide ran to finish a spectacular third, despite giving away a ton of weight to the Bayakoa-esque fourth place runner.

There are two camps about this horse, but that respectable Beyer really makes me wonder why they refuse to ship and test this horse a bit.

Cause then she won't be as special if she loses
