I assure you, any number of the colts that WC beat in her Derby, horses like Risen Star and Forty Niner, would have handled Zenyatta.

Your stupidity just is mind boggling.

This from the genius who would've advised the hairpiece guy to put the $100k on Line of David instead of Super Saver in the Derby … LMAO

Well, I see this WC was 8 for 19 lifetime (42%) … not exactly the stuff of legends

Looks like she got brave while running loose on the lead in the annual crapshoot at CD and was able to hang on (barely) at the end for the fluky W.

Not surprisingly, she proceeded to get her butt kicked in the Preak and Bel.

I'll keep digging … but not real impressed so far.

Good thing Z didn't have to face a killer like this…

you aren't impressed with a filly winning the derby over the likes of forty niner, risen star, seeking the gold, private terms, brians time and others. but winning a race over gio ponti and twice over does impress you?

seems warped to me.

Zenyatta has crossed the Mississippi, I must had missed that.

Yes, shame on Moss for annoucing Zenyatta's retirement while keeping her in training, then announce in late January that they were going to the Apple Blossom.

Wow running 2 dirt races in 3 years means they excel? interesting. Why did they skip last year's Apple Blossom?

(Hey Riot, this is how you seperate a post)

......And why in the heck is the thoroughbredracingradionetwork site down?

Winning Colors won twice as many races against the boys as Zen did. I believe she won your precious Santa Anita Derby(which is an irrelevant race nowadays) At least she tried and campaigned against the boys unlike what Zen does. She took on the BEST male and female horses, EVERYTIME

You can't be this stupid. It has to be an act - congrats, you've won an Oscar.

cakes44 06-17-2010 12:42 PM

Yeah she didn't just win the Santa Anita Derby...she strapped it on and bent that field over.

In that Santa Anita Derby she beat Big Cap winner Ruhlman, millionaire Lively One who won the Swaps and Goodwood, and Tejano. She only lost the Preakness by 2.5 lengths, which was quite an accomplishment considering the steps Woody Stephens took to ensure she did not win.

That last part is the first sensical thing you've ever said about Zenyatta on here, even though you didn't mean it.

Actually, I think he is on track to easily making that list. 50 over 25 years, so an average of 2 a year in an age when horses race less and less and many great 3yo's are sent to the breeding shed. He's set 3 track records in a short career. How many others can say that since 1985?

slotdirt 06-17-2010 01:02 PM

I was actually trying to think of 49 horses superior to Quality Road going a route of ground since 1990, and I think we could probably come up with a pretty good list. Quality Road would be aiming for listed stakes or would be probably pacesetter fodder in the 96-98 or so years.

Zenyatta did cross the Mighty Mississipp once, though she was kindly kept in her stall rather than run on that awful muddy track!

slotdirt 06-17-2010 01:09 PM

That Ouija Board was only 10 for 22 lifetime! Hardly the stuff of legend!

The prospect of facing superstar Miss Isella was a daunting one.

John Henry sucked.

slotdirt 06-17-2010 01:14 PM

Gallorette won a measly 21 times in 72 starts. And she only beat Stymie once and - gasp! - ran against Triple Crown winner Assault. Hall pass revoked!

slotdirt 06-17-2010 01:18 PM

Don't even get me started on Princess Doreen, Lady's Secret, Susan's Girl, or Shuvee. Bums, they're all bums.

I can think of 5 from 2003 alone, and I'm not sure this is an all-time year:

Mineshaft, Candy Ride, Congaree, Medaglia d'Oro, and Pleasantly Perfect
