Many thought he was at the twilight of his career but to still win like he did against such a handy field gives me such a buzz." |
Cheers to our lurkers in Singapore on the very nice win by Dark Matter today! You all must be very proud and also having 9 in the World Rankings which I believe is a new high.
Can't wait to see Captain Obvious show the internationals when it's his turn. :tro: Oh and this is awesome... they've added a Most Improved Horse category. Very exciting! http://www.turfclub.com.sg/DesktopMo...=85&PortalId=0 |

I really should just stop this thread altogether BUT have to mention this one...
Name to remember? Super Easy. Very very nice horse. http://www.thoroughbrednews.com.au/s....aspx?id=61666 Replay off to the side or use drop down menu and find him under horse performance. :) http://www.turfclub.com.sg/MediaCent...eoGallery.aspx |
Depressing headline but I'm glad he's so well loved.
On Waikato... http://www.thoroughbrednews.com.au/s....aspx?id=62041 |
A very very very nice 2nd to Mr. Big...
http://www.turfclub.com.sg/MediaCent...ListName=Local News In a thrilling blanket finish, the three horses lunged at the post with Mr Big earning the verdict by a head from Waikato with Arowana Dot Com third another short head away. The winning time was 1min 10.01secs. Beasley was full of praise for the evergreen nine-year-old Waikato whose fast-closing second may have convinced trainer Laurie Laxon to shelve retirement talks for his $3 million earner - for now. I was at my top in the straight but just couldnt quite get into the clear until the last bit, said Beasley. Im really proud of the horse and the effort he put in. It still shows that hes competitive in these types of race. Im just disappointed he didnt win. Replay on the STC site. |
I don't know if you're still following Singapore racing, but last night in the Gr.1 Kranji mile, previously undefeated Super Easy was beaten by the Smarty Jones filly Better Life. A great run from her, she's the only female in the race. Here's the replay:

Yes I still follow it but not too much these days... kinda sucks when no one else seems to want to talk about it (or HK) but oh I am so happy you posted this! I have never heard of her but that field? Are you kidding? Some really super nice horses in there so for her to beat Gingerbread Man, Ato, Flying Fulton, Waikato (yea) et all what a nice girl! Do you follow Singapore or just this one girl? Very very nice! :) |
I just follow her, because I follow all of Smarty's runners. Sadly his best runners have all been overseas. She is a good one!
|
I love Smarty (he's why I fell in love with racing) but really don't keep track of his kids (or anyones for that matter!) so you need to give a heads up when a good one (Of course they're probably all good :D ) is entered!
|
You probably already know this but your girl is in the Gold Cup on Sunday.
http://www.goldcup.sg/contenders.html Very happy Waikato was 3rd today... good for the old man. http://www.turfclub.com.sg/Racing/Pa...eResult/1712/8 |
Well you must be happy, Baranduin! :tro:
|
Yes, very happy, thanks! She is a wonderful mare. I just wish she was here!:)
|
|
Your girl is up for many many awards!
Here's hoping Waikato wins one anyway. :) http://www.thoroughbrednews.com.au/s....aspx?id=64056 |

Congrats to Flying Fulton for winning AGAIN...
Good luck to Eclair Flyer in R8 on Friday and to Gingerbread Man on Sunday (the following race is named for him. Cool! There's even one for Big Maverick (applause) and yes I know no one cares but ah do. :D :wf They need to have one named for War Horn)... ... AND Good luck (and thanks in advance for hitting the board :$:) to Mr. Big in Dubai. |
Better Life wins the G2-SNG Queen Elizabeth II Cup! I just love this mare!:)
http://www.turfclub.com.sg/MediaCent...s#.UXqcg7WG1Ls edited to add race link! |
Thanks for posting the replay. Very nice!
Nice to see you here, by the way. :) |
Rocket Man injured and out of the KrisFlyer...
|
Hunters Light is already there (and, apparently, looking good!).
The two I care the most about, Bel Sprinter who is one of my ATM horses (cause it's not funny and it's not redboarding... he wins a LOT and it has become an automatic thing playing him... takes no brains) and Lucky Nine (go HK Raiders!) both arrive Sunday. Nice to see Doug Watson sending a few over! Quite a few other intl horses on their way...MDK sends over Kavanagh, Dasher Go Go represents Japan, Red Cadeaux arrives tomorrow, couple of others from HK, and some I'm forgetting. |
For anyone who doesn't play the Aussie tracks on Friday night... THIS is Bel Sprinter.
Doesn't it look like they've sped up the film toward the end? :D He is amazing. Might not handle the trip well and the humidity is a big issue (mystery) BUT he's a gelding so they've said they'll go for it. Has a fantastic chance. Please check him out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEN6CQxrh3o |
Lucky Nine this morning @ Kranji (thank you, Singapore Turf Club)...

Kavanagh in the Sprint.
Cup a tougher lot - Pastorius and Meandre put in the best works on the grounds, and me and several others are convinced Hunter's Light isn't right. I didn't say a word and a few others at trackwork this morning suggested he was lame. Military Attack has done nothing but get perfect trips his last few starts, but frankly, he's likely to get another one. |
Quote:
Bel Sprinter for me. I'm rooting for Lucky Nine, think he'll hit the board but if Bel Sprinter can handle the humidity I think he wins. If not it's Lucky Nine or Super Easy. Will play these three in some kinda order with Mr. Big in the 4th spot. For the Cup it's all about Better Life, or I think so anyway. Better Life Military Attack Lizarre Good luck to you and have a great time. |
Thank you, TVG, for allowing us to play these great races tonight. :wf
