No excuse for something like that.

Agree with you- however I don't know the legalities of rape per se, but if you are a witness to a murder, and you don't report it, it is a crime in some states (Ohio for one). Same for rape possibly? (Talking just criminality, not morality)

Personally if I was a boss and one of my employees said he saw a creepy retiree raping a child. I would tell my employee...."you need to call the police and tell them what you saw." I am pretty much certain I would not call the police in that scenario if I look at it honestly. I really didn't see anything. Of course no two scenarios are exactly alike. And this Penn State situation perhaps had a lot more involved and cover up than the situation I described.

Joe knew...at least since 1998. They all knew. I don't know how anyone can question that he covered it up and what his motives were for doing so.

He could have helped so many kids. Shame on him and everyone else that enabled this predator.

pretty much every state has laws making anyone whose profession brings them into regular contact with a vulnerable population (young children, elderly, disabled) mandated reporters of suspected abuse.

it's not a crime to observe abuse and not report it unless you fall into that category.

like you said. talking criminality, not morality.

I believe you are likely right on that account. Which would account for the sudden Sandusky exit after 1999 season. It is killing me this whole thing. 4 of the best years of my life were spent at that place seeing over 20 games in Happy Valley at Beaver Stadium and my late Dad bought me the airplane ticket to go see the 1987 Fiesta Bowl National Championship game...i bought the ticket to the game...won a lottery in the student ticket thing!! Walking through local stores and seeing the "all proceeds go to Jerry's Kids" thing. The crreepiness level to me personally is beyond the pale. so sad. All of it. Believe me Sandusky was just as loved and worshipped as Paterno especially after the 1986 National Championship game. That was Sandusky's shining moment. Just sick.

In hindsight, McQueary should have beaten the holy living crap out of Sandusky in the shower and called Officer Hill of the campus police! (that's the guy who questioned me in 1985 (shenanigans by someone I guess), not sure if Hill still around in '02!) I think that probably would have been the end of Sandusky's activities right there. McQueary's still the one I can't figure out in this whole thing. He's the one that actually saw it.

Not hard to figure out. Sandusky was almost as big a legend as Joe Pa himself.

Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAg9SdrJGXk

He was not some slap dick defensive coordinator ... he was a guy who could have had a head coaching job almost anywhere if he wanted it.

You got skills brother. Wasted in Erie with fat girls. Talking to me on FB and posting on DT.

Congrats Penn State students. Not only is your university now widely despised but your behavior shows you are a bunch of losers. Good luck getting a job with a degree from that cesspool.

I don't fucl< around!

And at prices like these .... 25-cent beers...

You know I got fucl<ed the fucl< up.

And those are downtown prices in the big city bars crawling with black chicks right by the Occupy Erie protests.

After the drink special ended... I walked down to check out the Occupy Erie crowd in Perry Square. Told them Barack O'Bama was a Fried Chicken Hawk and a corporate right-wing shill from Kansas with a hell of a good tan. It made the hippie bitches wet.

These morons kept quiet to protect their school, brand, program and what they did was destroy it. Had they called the cops immediately, the school would have had a bit of a scandal on their hands, but it would have blown over as soon as Sandusky went to jail. Not to mention how many kids that could have been saved from future torture.

So, by sweeping it under the rug, Joe Pa was able to keep on keeping on and more kids continued to be abused and now the whole thing crashes down. Arrogant assholes that think they are above the law and can handle things themselves.

I hope the Feds go after each and every one that knew anything about this and did nothing, including people in Sandusky's personal life. I do not know what legally can be done with the likes of Paterno, McQueary, et al, but I hope they live a miserable life, haunted by all the kids they could have saved by making a simple phone call to the authorities.

I wonder how those protesting students will feel 10-20 years from now, when they look their own 10 year old son in the eye.

Really?? Cesspool? That's pretty much incorrect. 100 percent. Generally I'm guessing the facts are that 99 percent of the student's "rioting" were not really rioting, and an overwhelmingly large percentage of students were not even "not rioting". It is only disappointing to me to see some many misinformed students defending the "establishment". IT's not really a cesspool

Hopefully they all commit suicide as every single one of us was a perfect human being at age 18/19 etc. I mean perfect. Flawless. Not one silly thing ever done. Ever. Zero chance that at age 37 any of them will be at all different. Zero.
