Judging from the posts in this thread, I caught every highlight in the 15 seconds I saw this morning.

Matt did a better job than ESPN, summing it up.

I'd take Tebow over Sanchez. He might suck but notice how the mf'er seems to be on the winning side.

Plus I don't believe Mexicans are meant to lead anything but a cartel.

Oops das racist.

Sorry..Tebow is HORRIBLE...The Jets ineptness and Bronco's semi-above average D led to that victory. Any decent 1AA QB can lead that..umm..offense. They are embarrassing.

Coach Pants 11-18-2011 05:58 AM

There are a lot of horrible qb's in the league. I'd rather have a guy who can muster game winning drives than a stats queen who chokes when it matters.

I'm enjoying the hate Tebow is getting. Now you know how SEC opponents felt. He's an anomaly. Trust me.

Come on Coach..I remember your Teblow rants. I just hate he's getting credit for his opponents suckiness and running a wishbone offense that ANY Navy QB could run better. I try and put his personal dick headness out of my mind ( it's hard to do) but if he is starting in this league 1 year from now, I'll apologize and donate a bag of rice to the church of his choice.

Agree, but how much credit does he deserve? Before the final drive he had a total of 11 yards rushing and around 60 yards passing. The boo birds were out as well.

That was a case more of the Jets losing the game (trust me, I'm very familiar with this concept) than the Broncos winning.

no. you telling me there are no 'good guys' on the jets? gimme a break.

Thank God I don't get the NFL network.

Some observations after reading this thread:

1. Sanchez sucks big time

2. The Broncos will be bad for at least 4 more years.

3. Somerfrost's avatar creeps me out.

4. People really want to believe in potato chip miracles.

Might as well send 4 or 5 bags. He's not going anywhere.

It's not like he has even moderately acceptable receivers. And he has two China dolls at RB. That drive last night was on the defense mostly but lets be real...there are quite a few qb's who would've fu.cked that up royally. The dude has nerves of steel.

And you know I think he's garbage but he has proven time and time again he has the heart of a lion. When he cried like a b.itch in the SEC championship game I mocked him constantly but at the same time respected him. His competitiveness is second to none.

I don't disagree with this. His numbers are pedestrian. But the results are that he's 4-1 as a starter with three road wins and a win over the Jets. I realize that the competition matters but the bottom line matters more. Kobe Bryant used to always say to his team to keep it close through three and he'd bring them home in the fourth. That's what Tebow is doing. To have the ability to turn it up when the pressure is at its highest and put the horrible game you've been having out of your mind is impressive. There are stats guys and money guys. It's still early but Tebow really is turning into a money guy. To do it with that supporting cast makes it that much more impressive.

all that matters in sports is winning. Tebow wins. He provides leadership that even inspires teammates to play harder. They believe he'll lead him back, even if its just with his legs and a couple of throws here and there.

stats are for Fantasy leagues.

Yeah maybe there is some karma or just maybe God hates the Jets. Regardless the Broncos had field position all night long and were only able to muster 10 offensive points. For 54 minutes last night Tebow looked like he was in way over his head. They just happened to play a team last night that was more inept then them.

Not sure Al Davis would ever be smiling over a Broncos win.

Sure Tebow deserves some credit, but I think the offensive line and more importantly the defense deserves props as well. I really haven't watched the Broncos all season (and after last night won't be tuning in again anytime soon), but I really came away impressed with the defense and more notably Vonn Miller.

I bet his teammates laugh at him behind his back. I really do. They know this smoke and mirrors show won't last long in the NFL. Steve Young said it best when he called him an "embarrasment"..he really is.

i think you're on to something about god and the jets. they constantly raise fans hopes, and then dash them to the ground.

as for tebow-if he didn't suck so bad, they wouldn't have to keep coming from behind. but like they say, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. it's a team sport-he's not the only one getting them the wins. he's getting far too much credit for their wins-but i do give him credit for trying hard, for what that's worth.

and i will be rooting for denver vs the chargers. i'm anti-norv/rivers.

Von Miller will turn out (might already be) the best player from the last two or three drafts. Kid is a remarkable player and athlete and is learning to recognize and cover much more quickly than I expected. That was a great decision, not that Peterson hasn't been impressive but Miller is the real deal.

Antitrust32 11-18-2011 09:39 AM

Tebow is one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. But he is one of the best football players in the league. All 32 teams in football would be lucky to have a guy with his heart and courage on their team.

while I agree with you... Suh is that player from the last two or three drafts. Von Miller has the opportunity to be as dominant as Suh though. He's a beast.

"I said before, I trust him. I trust him with everything. No matter how many interceptions he throws, no matter how many touchdowns he scores, that's Tim Tebow and I'm going to ride with him to the end. I hope he shut up a whole bunch of critics today."

Do you really think they are laughing at him? You think they would prefer Orton or Quinn? That's the thing people are forgetting here. If Denver had Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady or Drew Brees.......or just about 95% of the starting qb's in the league, Tebow wouldn't be playing. But they had Orton, who was not producing and losing. The defense deserves a ton of credit. Probably more than Tebow I'd say. But I do think Miller's comments show a feeling that goes through the team. When Orton is out there, they are thinking "here we go again." They may stop the other team and then Orton gives it right back and they are on the field again. You're wondering how Orton is going to squander your hard work. With Tebow, you're wondering how he's going to pull it out. Everyone plays with a different confidence now and that can't be measured.

Oh stop. He's 5-3 as a starter in his career. He played terrible for nearly the entire game last night. At one point they punted like 8 straight times. They had one good drive and because of mistakes the other team made, they capitalized.

They got 7 points off a terrible INT by Sanchez. Their initial FG came after a shanked punt that went like 12 yards. His running TD came as a result of terrible execution by Eric Smith.

He's clearly an unbelievably clutch player. He makes plays when it matters and it almost appears he wants to win more than his opponents. It's a nice story for now, but it won't continue. A lot of things had to happen last night for that last drive to even happen and he's lucky (or it's karma ) that it was the Jets on the other side of the ball.

the players absolutely love tebow now (maybe not at the beginning of the season). You could tell by watching the game and how they jumped on him after he scored. Oh yeah, and you can tell by listening to their interviews.

Its stupid to think they are laughing at a guy who has quarterbacked them to a 4-1 record. These are NFL players, all they care about is winning.

Tebow is like a hand-job everyone happy with the results even though it probably isn't their preferred method of play. His style will go the way of the Wildcat as soon as Defenses start taking them seriously.
