I think he gave her a fine ride. Maybe he could have waited a few more seconds to make the move at the stretch, but it was a good ride. She looked like she really wanted to run fast in the first 1/2 mile. |
but hey, we beat the pletcher AND the assman in the same race. life is good.

To be clear - those fractions were fifths ...
from the chart: Fractions: :23.4, :46.3, 1:10.4, 1:23.2, 1:36.2 (:23.89, :46.79, 1:10.85, 1:23.42, 1:36.50) |

yeah, we do. she's doing great, lots of excitement for sure!!! i know she's done more than we could have hoped for...hitting the board in allowances, paying her way and we're having a ball! best $500 i have EVER spent. i'm just waiting for them to pull the trigger on the next one, this has been great. |

i'm just sayin'....:D |

*edit, you are correct. The higher end claimers in the condition book are mostly AOC's. To answer your question no, not for 35k* |

Sometimes you are better off letting one relax themselves as opposed to holding them. It took just enough out of her to cost them the race. Mojica didnt help shooting up the rail with a crow, but thats where Willie makes all the difference, good or bad. Im a very bad jockey basher, but I always believe if you lose by a half you could have won.
I think she was the best horse in the race, when the best horse doesnt win its usually because of the trip, or ride. |

lol ;) Its a heartbreaker. She put away that Pletcher horse and looked like an easy winner at the top of the stretch... you could hear all the DT people screaming! I think I heard Scav. |
Congratulations to all of the connections on another fine race.

I don't think that the post position was really a negative factor at all...the pace, and that she never really got much of a breather the whole race may have been her downfall...still in all she ran great...CS had her ready and had her placed well...maybe next time...hope she comes back sound and eats up well.

She'll have some nice allowance spots as well as (likely easier) 50K spots... |
She did run a winning race, no doubt about it. Optimal effort, certainly

next time.... |
I don't have a probelm with how she ran. Maybe the 46 days played a factor...probably not. She's a quick horse and I thought Willie rode her fine. From the 9 hole she got very good position. She looked like a winner at the top of the stretch to me...the other horse just ran her down. I agree about the lead change problem...that could be the half length right there.

If she ran in a 50k claimer she would be claimed. She would be claimed up to 100
|
Oh she's a heckofa filly
I'm sure there isnt an owner in America that wouldnt want her in their barn! |

Or at least that's how I saw it. |

I dont think it was a terrible ride at all, I think she should have won. Its more Mojica's fault on his 30-1 plug that cost her the race. Shooting that horse up the rail figured to liven the pace. I dont think she could have lost if he left her alone, I think all the guys riding that race knew if she got on a lonely lead it would have a greyhound race.

well she ran good no doubt but was she supposed to lose getting a pretty easy lead at 7/5?
|
I think she got a little aggressive when the horse came up the inside of her. That horse was asked to go on and clear and she stayed glued.
|
I agree with Danzig. This is the best $500 I have ever spent. I have yet to be able to see her live but I am having a ball. This is one nice filly. We are lucky to have her.

Another game effort by our girl. I was at Suffolk Downs screaming at the screen - must say I had a few others urging her on also and they aren't part of the DT group. Hopefully she comes back sound, eats up and takes a great nap. If all comes back well, we can take solace in keeping her condition and getting a small check.
Looking forward to seeing her and everyone else at Saratoga! |

I don't have a problem with Willy's ride and I am impressed that she was able to take off the lead and still make another run in the stretch. It's too bad that the Pletcher horse went as early as she did, to me that clearly forced Willy to go early, if the 8 doesn't move to the end of the turn she wins, she may even have held on if she changed her leads on time. Hopefully that will be corrected. Plus, she probably needed a race in her. Congrats fellow DTers, we have a very nice filly that will probably run even better next time out with this race in her. Plus, she is clearly capable of running on two surfaces. I, for one, think she ran a hell of race again today and proved one more time that she is a game filly. The wins will come.:) |
I check out the Toga condition book on Sunday night, there are a few spots she would look good in...I pointed them out on that link below...
Just got done looking at it...a couple of interesting spots for our Dee Tee runner; Sumwonlovesyou (all going long) August 2nd - 2xmc/nw3/Opt.Clm.50 3&up August 5th - 1xmc/nw2/Opt.Clm.75 3&up July 30th - Overnight stake 3&up there's a 60-50 claimer on August 13th, but it's a 5th listed sub-race (straight 3yr.olds) these look like the best available from the first condition book |
