I hope that people will soon finally think, really think about this topic. That they will quit with the apologist history and finally concede what many have known all along.

The mass murders in Europe didn't involve knives but guns despite their restrictive gun laws.

This country isn't obsessed with guns, I own guns and am not obsessed with them. I own a lawn mower to cut my lawn and guns to protect my lawn.

Guns don't go off by themselves and solving the problem by banning them is equivalent to solving the problem of fatal car accidents by banning automobiles.

BTW I don't hate you in fact much closer to loving you though we differ many times on at least political matters. :{>:

Banning mentally deranged people, people on psychiatric drugs and holding those responsible like this kid's father enabling them to own guns would be a great start. And would in theory have aborted the Sandy Hook, Colorado, Ft. Hood and this mass murder to start.

You can't help yourself. Like a special needs child that has to puke.

Now a flag is to blame?

If we took down/banned the ISIS flag are they going away?

Still OK to burn, walk on the American flag OK?

You are entertaining!

And middle of the road LMAO

Umm..this country is obsessed with guns. There can be no reasonable dialog about control because...and I am and sorry. ..but other than family, gun owners value their right to kill..disguised as defend , above all. Just give an inch...I don't care if you want to hunt, but why are you so afraid to give an inch?

Just enforce the laws we have!

I don't hunt, value all wildlife including deer, and not popular up here, but not 6'0" plus either. Never shot at or towards a person in my life but worked many shifts in the ghettos and though not doing that anymore still think it my right to have a tool to protect my property and life.

No one should be able to buy and /or own a gun w/o a background check regardless of State and I will give that inch.

I also should add the father of this racist diagnosed psychotic prick in SC needs to go down for furnishing him the gun via a birthday gift. :zz:

Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the world much less the country and it is a motherf.ucking war zone.

It's cute seeing gun owners labeled as more wanting to kill than to defend their family, property, and possessions from potential harm.

Random gun violence happens like this and people all of a sudden care.

Dell brings up all the weekend deaths in Chicago and it's far less caring.

Since we're assuming law abiding gun owners just wanna kill people lets also assume that liberals on here want Chicago gang members to kill other gang members and innocent bystanders.

It's only a fair assumption since we're obviously in the 'demonizing' straw-man game.

Not for nuttin, but I was just wondering why, in all the gun/2nd ammendment debates, the gun Manufacturers, and moreover, the Ammo manufacturers are NEVER mentioned?

Guns don't kill people, BULLETS do.

I just find it strange.

Pants II 06-20-2015 07:32 AM

...but then again that has more to do with segregation. Out of sight, out of mind.

"I won't ever be in that part of town."

Meanwhile this is different. This incident in Charleston happened in a 'nice' part of town. There's a slight chance one of the white liberals here would've been in that church...re-enacting the opening scenes from The Jerk.

Oh well. It's all about 'that coulda been me or muh kid!' then the irrational logic begins. We need more gun control!

Ignore the examples of 'gun-free' zone failures. Let's ramp up the emotions...just like we did after 9/11!

"Take my freedom, please! Keep me safe, government! You have a tremendous track record of doing so!"

Just ban lead alloy.

Then when mass murder happens by a sniper with a high-powered bow and arrow we'll have to ban the materials used to make bows and arrows.

It's just a silly discussion. There are Americans who use Europe as an example.

Oh the same Europe that is having Greece default on them?

How naive are we here, folks? You don't think any of this is related to the fact that our politicians have essentially bankrupted this country?

You think they really give a f.uck about any of us?

Sheesh. Stop being conditioned by Walt Disney. FFS

That's a slippery slope.

One could argue the responsibility lies with the state. Particularly the public school system for allowing this guy to drop out in 9th grade.

They failed him. Like they have so many others with failed liberal policies that allow these 'children' to be as uncivilized as their hearts desire because 'no one punishes my baby'.

Then we must also look at dropping the statute of limitations on the attorneys and their lobbyists who pushed for children to have more rights than adults when it comes to disciplining them.

It's so funny to read comments about how this guy is a 'monster' and he's 'evil' and that the state should now 'kill' him but I bet this young man didn't have a paddle took to his ass in his formative years.

I bet he wasn't conditioned to not do stupid sh.it in fear of getting his ass whooped.

Instead he was empowered by the system to be a monster. By the same people who want to kill him 'now'.

The hypocrisy and repeated failure of these clowns never ceases to astound.

A true idiocracy.

The point to my observation, if there was one, is that it would seem that those 2 industries have so much clout, they are somehow left out of the discussion. But I agree, it's a silly discussion. And DON'T GET ME STARTED with the Evil that is Disney!

There was no justice for Denmark Vesey and the others who were executed and banished in 1822. There was no justice for the members of the AME church when their building was burned. There was no justice for the millions of African Americans who were wrongly held in bondage. Justice in this case will not merely be a guilty verdict for the accused shooter. Justice demands that we acknowledge and address our nation’s continuing racial prejudice and disparities. Justice demands that we address police brutality, mass incarceration, and the lack of equal access to opportunity for millions of black Americans. The shooting is not simply the action of one deranged and evil individual, but instead springs from our nation’s long history of racial prejudice and violence against black Americans.

i can't believe how little notice has been paid to that trade deal. i started a thread on it a few weeks ago...nothing. about the same response as all over the country.

The reason this is attack/tragedy is so heavily covered by the media is because it involved a white racist killing black people AND IT IS A RARE OCCURANCE! So while we listen to all the pontifications including those of the Rev. Jackson about how this is a continuation of racist America the following sixteen murders occurred in Chicago during the past week, not to mention the week before or next week, right under the Rev's nose. We must ask why do these victims get ignored over and over and over? And black lives matter? To whom? :wf

June 18 – Name Unknown, a 43 year old black male, caused by a gunshot in Woodlawn.

June 18 – Lynell Simmons, a 30 year old black male, caused by a gunshot in Chatham.

June 18 – Name Unknown, a 23 year old unknown male, caused by a gunshot in Chatham.

Fair enough. Too many cops all over the USA can't be trusted as far as you can throw them. Agreed.

Why did the community and civil rights leaders wait until Michael Brown died (or anyone else for that matter)
before ginning up all their outrage at police brutality against minorities?

Black lives matter huh?

not sure. but it seems that the city had been engaged in a wholesale shakedown for some time. did the black citizens feel there was nowhere to turn before, and then his death was the final blow? i don't know.
and that's not the only town either. look at baltimore, and having to pay to settle case after case of 'rough rides'.
there is systemic racism in this country. it's a fact. the question is how to confront it, face it, accept there's an issue, and then work on fixing it?
what's worse? racism, or people saying there's no racism? the white people in ferguson said 'ah, come on, no worries here'. but they didn't know, they'd never seen it and dealt with it, they're white.
young black kids are punished more in schools than their white counterparts fo the same infractions, and that's just the beginning.
