Kids played 7 games, some slack is due. And you can be sure he won't be raping anyone.

As a QB, Tebow isn't better than any of the guys you listed. As a fullback, you are correct.

I'm not sure how someone can look at a 2 for 8 performance and do anything put laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

As a very young QB he has won two national championships, a Heisman and is 3-1 this year as a starter with the same teammates as Orton had for two years at 4-14 or whatever he was. Hate all you want, he seems to enjoy it as much as I do. Guy is two hail mary completions from having two wins over San Diego.
7TDs and 1 INT, yards are irrelevant, % is irrelevant, attempts are irrelevant.
Who is your teams QB?

hi_im_god 11-14-2011 07:35 PM

i think christian ponder playing against the packers will have a better game than tim tebow playing against the jets.

he'll also have a better nfl career. but he wasn't a first round pick and doesn't have an adoring army of fans willing to ignore fundamental flaws in his abilities.

Bold statement about tonight. One of the worst defenses in the game as opposed t one of the best.
With your ability to forecast the unknown you to should spend more time in the selections thread. Where did you have the Broncos 4 starts ago? Certainly it was 3-1. You people know as much about football as Riot does politics.

i wasn't the one boasting about a 3-1 record against miami, detroit, oakland, and kansas city, pot.

-kettle.

The problem with this simple kind of thinking is that well, it's far too simple. Understand what I am saying, Tebow is a very good football player. He just isn't a very good pro QB and that isn't going to change if he never loses another game.

Again, he had TWO completions yesterday. Two. I also don't hate him, nor am I a hater. I just think it's funny you called people haters for not jumping on the bandwagon.

Regarding the offense...good defenses will likely handle it sure, that said the way they tackle in the NFL these days lends itself to this offense handling many opponents.
As far as your prediction to Tebow's Superbowl wins, your ability to see the future is remarkable, please share in the selections thread more often.

I'm so sure in my ability to see the future I'll bet you a $1000. The bet is Tebow does not take the majority of snaps AT QUARTERBACK on a super bowl winning team. Put your money where your mouth is.

By the way, I think he's a good football player and a quality person. I just don't think he has the skill set to have success at QB in the NFL over an extended period of time.

So certain you will make an even money bet. Wow, bold of you. Bet you 10k the sun comes up tomorrow. I will give you 1000-1 odds it does.

I thought you wouldn't require odds. As a young quarterback Tebow won 2 national championships and a Heisman.

He is to football what what Zenyatta was to horse racing. Something for the fan to talk about but not fully understand. A trolls paradise.

Antitrust32 11-15-2011 08:14 AM

i still :{>: me some Timmy. he has more heart than all the players on my team combined.

edit.

except Shady McCoy. I cant group him in with all the other Eagles, he's the man.

Help us haters out. What do we need to understand that we aren't? How does a 2 for 8 passing performance equate to a good NFL QB?

Not for nothing but the aggressor here is you. You've gotten all bent out of shape defending your guy (which is admirable) but he hasn't performed well enough for any sane person to defend his play. The only thing you can say is they are winning, which is the most important thing. Is that because of Tebow's play? Of course not. How could it be?

Yes he was, he was the 12th pick overall.

I am defending "my guy" because results speak for themselves. I own a company, if I hire a sales guy who does things completely differently than any of my other sales guys and his results with the same staff and support we have now are a complete inversion from where we were before, the guy deserves credit. I don't care how he got there.
If not his play than what? His intangibles, maybe. Both Decker and Miller were on espn yesterday saying the same things, the guy brings the team up and isnt scared to put it on his own back when need be.
Re: Ponder...I will take 2-8 62tds and a TD (plus one rushing) over 16-38 160 and an INT every day.
You all don't like him (as a QB anyway, I give everyone credit for speaking to his person and work ethics) but this town has really jumped on board and it has been fun. I hope they keep winning. :wf

But has he really put the team on his back? It seems like in 2 out of the 3 wins (Miami and KC), they got very strong defensive performances (against bad teams). In the Oakland game they got a few big plays out of other players (McGahee and Royal), regardless he played well in what was a very good road win. I guess as the QB, he's the leader and a big part of it, but realistically those seemed like overall total "TEAM" wins as opposed to a guy carrying the entire team on his back.
You would think that those intangibles he brings to the table will get tried quickly if and when he is needed to really carry the team on his back and throw the ball 40 times. I think that's when we will see what he's really made of.

Not my words, paraphrased from Decker and Miller.
I do not disagree they are team wins, I maintain that the team is better with him as their leader. "Math" says so.

We will see in the coming weeks, the waters get much deeper.
