She's got to run for 25% more in claiming price for the next 30 days. If she runs back in a claimer within 30 days, she'll have to run for $12.5k, or more, plus 6% sales tax.

Do you suggest to claim her back for $13250?

Did you also happen to notice that the race before hers on Sunday was a $4k claimer for nw3 lifetime and, taking liberties in extrapolating out fractions for comparison, the winner of that race ran a faster 6.5f time than Rampy's final time?

So, let's say she is running for $12.5k nw2 claiming next time and you claim her. She wins the race so then her next race is a nw3 lifetime. What level do you run her at if she wouldn't have won for $C4k nw3 on Sunday?

One other thing to remember about claiming at Charles Town, the horse is in jail for 60 days after the claim and has to be raced at Charles Town for that period of time.

I'm not a part of this partnership either, but agree with your opinion 100%!

right. emotions aside, she wouldn't be a sensible horse to try to claim back right now. but i can't think why the money from the claim couldn't be put to good use for another horse.

Go back to post #52 from Chuck in which he very eloquently details why. It's in the contract.

And while I'd love nothing more than to have another runner in the Mid-Atlantic right now, I'm also a firm supporter of following a contract.

I'm also a firm believer that where there's a will, there's a way..... 8-)

i read the post, and know what the deal was. but he also said 'Quite frankly we felt as though the partners may be more interested in rolling over the amount left into another horse as opposed to simply waiting for the final disbursement especially since there are no training expenses as with all the partnerships.' i also don't see why there wouldn't be interest in a claim, since the deal also said 'two horses' which would return the # to 2-and since aldeb is still running, and no disbursement in the offing, i would rather let the money go to use, rather than sit. but like i said earlier, just my opinion as an observer in this case.

We must be doing something right if others are interested enough in our horses to claim from us. Thanks Linda and Chuck and everyone who took care of her.

Does any one know who took her? I want to keep on watching her as she goes along in her racing no matter how many times she is claimed.

When she is done racing, I want to make sure she gets a good home. I have a lot of connections with equine adoption. I am on the veterinary advisory board of Re-Run NJ.

See every one soon at Saratoga!:)

I agree with you and Riot that our responsibility should not end when the horse is claimed. Anything could happen to them after they leave us.
Keeping a close eye on all the horses and trying hard to find them permanent homes should be a focus, especially since Dee Tee is watched by so many people.
I hope you can keep track of Rampillion and if KNS is ever claimed I hope you will watch out for her too.

Even though she was claimed from us I am still rooting for her. Looks like a big step up. I'll go with the first of the claim angle. Best of luck to 'Pills and her new connection.

With her speed and cutting back to 4 1/2f she could be dangerous here.

Heels1989 08-20-2009 07:49 PM

solid effort for 2nd at a very nice price (11/1).

ddthetide 08-20-2009 07:50 PM

very nice run Pills!:tro:

Zaf 08-20-2009 08:19 PM

Wow those purses at CT are great. She picked up a nice check for 2nd.

Benny Leger 08-20-2009 08:22 PM

Damn !!!

Riot 08-20-2009 09:31 PM

Glad to see she did well and came out safely!

A back-wheel of Rolled Up & Rampillion save the day for me! :$:

ddthetide 08-31-2009 07:05 PM

09-03 @ Ct

R#7, same conditions as last race.

SuffolkGirl 09-03-2009 08:23 AM

She looks good on paper here, am looking at a 2,6,7 tri. If I can get her M/L of 6/1 that will be very nice, not quite the 12/1 last time but still a decent return.

Best of luck to Rampillion and her connections today.

ddthetide 09-03-2009 09:12 PM

another good effort from Pills. she was 4th in a 4 horse photo for 2nd. she missed 2nd by half-a-head.
