O.K., well, as I wrote last week (by posting that song "7 Days" by the now fat Craig David) I think the layoff for Philly could be an issue. Overall, The Rays have the better starting pitching. In the 3 games Cole Hamels didn't pitch in, the Dodgers scored what? 5-7 runs, and probably should have scored more. The Rays got 2 great starts from Garza, 1 great start from both Kazmir n' Sonanstine(?whatever.) In 2 of the wins against the Dodgers, Billingsley had the white flag up early. Sometimes he does that, and the pressure turned "sometimes" into "twice" in one series. I don't think the Rays starters are gunna lay down like Billingsley. I know the Dodgers weaknesses well, and the only one the Rays have in common is the lack of lights out dominant bullpen. If Price has that live arm working, then they will have none of the weaknesses the Dodgers had. The Dodgers hit the ball to the exact wrong part of Bank One. Tampa shows good power to left field down the line. So, that should take away some of the advantage the Phils have had in their park. Victorino was red hot in the Dodger Series. He may or may not stay that hot. 7 days is a lot. I think the Rays will win it, but I sure don't like the price -175 or whatever it is. They are both capabale of winning it. I just like the Rays a lil more(not -175 more.) If I was gunna bet, I'd probably bet what I said to do last year( series ends in 4 games ....Doesn't matter who ...6/1.) That's what happened last year, and in '2004. Did the Tigers get 1 game in World Series 2 years ago? Anyways, the series is swept more often than it should be.

Yup...that layover really hurt the Red Sox last year.

Wow great throw by Upton! Great job getting out of that without giving up any runs.

You have to love the guy. When he was here....Shapiro told him late in his last year they would be interviewing manager candidates for next year, but not to worry as Charlie was one of the candidates they would interview.

REALLY.

Manuel told him to shove the sham he was trying to run and quit on the spot.

Shapiro appeared before the cameras the next day with the Dimmy in the headlights look.

Just another reason I can't stand Shapiro and Wedgie, but love Manuel.

He is the exact reason why I am rooting for the Phillies.

Father/Son thing.

Manny being Fillie.

Wouldn't surprise me either Morty. CM and Manny were very tight in Cleveland.

I dont think thats going to happen. The phillies have a bunch of guys eligible for arbitration and they have to sign ryan howard. They arent gonna have manny money.

Since we're stating the obvious, that BJ Upton sure was sloooooooww tonight. Alot slower than a guy that had 44 sb's during the regular season should look like.

And good thing you rescinded that TERRIBLE assessment of Lidge.;)

All in all, tonights game was exactly how I had it played out in my mind, a low scoring affair.

The Phils could have gotten Hamels a bit more rest had they capitalized on all of those stranded runners early on in the game. Things like that could be the difference, no matter how small they appear to be. Good job by Kazmir getting out of those early jams.

My family went to a game. I had to stay home with Grandma.

Didn't have to look it up. It is the stuff of legends in Michigan. They don't talk about '84, they talk about '68.

One of the bolder moves ever by Mayo Smith was moving Mickey Stanley to shortstop for the series. Pretty sure he never played SS until the WS. Nobody would have the balls to do that today.

Phils in 4.
