That's much better than my 3-year-old son's favorite knock-knock joke:

Knock-knock!
Who's there?
Banana.
HA HA HA HA!

Read in a few places that American Lion will be running in the Illinois Derby, as well.

Small Field Seen for Keeneland's Blue Grass

A probable field of six 3-year-olds, headed by Tampa Bay Derby (gr. III) winner Odysseus, is expected for the April 10 Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland.

So did DRF....an hour or so ago.

The Indomitable DrugS 03-29-2010 05:47 PM

I still don't see Nicky Boy in for the Wood.

It's not politically correct to use the word "retarded" anymore.

Tiz Chrome to the Derby Trial.

Danzig 04-03-2010 06:49 PM

supposedly nicky's boy is pointed to the ark derby, but the trainer was unable to get licenses here-which is probably a good thing!

mbahadur 04-03-2010 07:08 PM

Pleasant Prince is going in the Bluegrass due to lack of earnings.

No problem. Haskin was talking about him last night and this really is a surprise because Lukas had been talking Lexington.. He's a pretty nice horse too, and doesn't need much money to squeeze someone else out...

EDIT: He has $127,000... Risen Star and Lanes' End money. $100,000 for 3rd gets him to about 17th/18th.

I was wrong about the money when it came up in February. It's remarkable how much it is going to take to make the field this year...

I agree he has some fast numbers....If he gets in, he hampers Sidney in a big way. IMO.

Sindey's Candy has no chance anyway...I'd book all the money I could on Sidney's Candy with other no hopers like Rule, Super Saver, and such in there, Sidney's Candy is a good candidate for the last place trifecta with Dean's Kitten and one of the Pletcher runners.

asudevil 04-06-2010 03:32 PM

Heard that Quiet Invader is heading east to the Withers.

Especially if he runs as well as a 12th start off the layoff 3-year-old usually does in the Derby.

I saw these as well on Keenelands website. What happened to Drosselmeyer and Connemara? I thought connections of both had already confirmed they were running.

Drossel to Preakness or Dwyer now. No announced plans for Connemara.

Out of curiosity, what is John Sadler's fascination with "dave"?
Distorted Dave, Dave in Dixie, Line of David.... I believe Dave in Dixie and Distorted Dave even have different owners (neither of which is named Dave).

Does he have a son named David?

Really? I guess I never realized that.
Let me rephrase the question.

Does he have a dog named Dave?

Yeah, me either.
The Bid always tried to convince me.
Then I saw him in person at the Ocala March sale.
The walk was a dead give away.
