Kinda happy for Ghostzapper. He just got his first G1 winner. First graded winner too right?

jms62 04-10-2010 04:52 PM

See S:zz:hit happens on dirt too and it sucks since I bet 200 on Super Saver.

A number of us have been questioning this for the last couple weeks. When you need 3rd place and above earnings to run a horse coming off a dirt stakes win in the Kentucky Derby, should you experiment with running him first time on synthetic against proven synthetic and turf horses.

You do if you think you are the smartest man in the world. First choice was to rest him until the derby. Those are two very odd choices. I guess my future ticket at 125-1 is a toss.

It just makes no sense.........I think the horse is very talented and I'm sorry that he won't make the Derby, but they should be penalized for making a stupid decision.

You wouldn't feel bad if you knew what I did.

Trust me, it is worse then just that ticket. That is just a taste.

The horse that won the allowance turf race will go down in history with the greatest trip since the earth was created.

That track is a dart board.

Maybe people will start understanding what Nick Zito has been saying all along. If I had a derby horse,I wouldn't include a Keeneland race in my plans.

lately you could say the same thing about the Wood.
Its only been three years on the synthetic at Keeneland, and it has produced one derby winner in Street Sense.

To my eye, there was nothing flukey looking about Stately Victor. I'm going to give him a long look in three weeks.

I have given up on Keeneland's main track. I only stick to the turf now.

On another note, it was an absolutely gorgeous day. The wife and myself had a great time. That place was absolutely packed.

Together Indy adds his name to the long list of NJ Breds to win graded stakes.

Gators N Bears
Nistle's Crunch
Wild Gams
Together Indy...

...and that's all I could find.

i'm with you. like i said in another thread , that poly track is like betting finger lakes. yes, freaky things happen on dirt but not like it does on that rat trap track. lets see how this horse runs (stately victor) in three weeks. i may be wrong but my prediction is yet another blue grass winner that pulls up the rear. what used to be a great dirt track is now an absolute joke. zito is right, why prep there, unless you don't need the money and its just a training move ala street sense. if you are seriously trying to win that race as a foundation for the derby as a trainer you would be out of your mind to go there. the entries each year increasingly prove this. that was the crappiest field i can remember for the race. the favorites were interactif (grass horse) and paddy o prado(another grade 3 grass). oh yeah, a stellar edition for 750,000.....lol. once again, i'm kicking myself for even attempting to bet that garbage yesterday. it was the first main track bet i made there since the meet opened!
