at a ceremony held at the historic Waldorf Astoria in New York City. He was
introduced by the legendary Neil Young who proclaimed Waits "a great performer,
singer, actor, songwriter, magician, changeling and spiritual guy."


Tom and Neil then joined one another on stage to play a riveting version of Tom's
song "Get Behind A Mule" along with a band featuring Larry Taylor, David Hildago,
Marc Ribot, and Casey Waits. You can view a video of this performance here. The
strange visual quality just adds additional atmosphere to the historic event.
