 Not too many bells... Kickin is a little touchy when she's being saddled. The last time I went to see Kickin race (last July at Arlington Park), she reared up in the paddock and had to be scratched.

I expect to get a winner's photo with you in the winner's circle.

Kickin has a great shot in this race. I think the only horses w/a chance to beat her are Light Sleeper and the 9. Ironically, Light Sleeper was the beaten favorite in KNS' first win at a higher claiming tag. LS has since ventured into allowance company only to end up eye-to-eye with KNS again in a $5k claimer. I'll be watching, go Kickin!

Ron Uchman's take:

"3-KICKIN N SCREAMIN showed little in Atlantic City, on turf, in her most recent start but she had been in pretty good form prior to that race while running on Polytrack. She ran well against better rivals when racing here last year. Could be tough to beat in her return."

I agree on the congrats to Emigh... but why that race?!

When they hit the final turn, I thought KnS was in perfect shape and even better shape coming off the turn.

Hope everything's ok after the race.

Many Others 05-30-2009 03:42 PM

yeah, why OUR race dang lol - well thought she looked good out there and also hope everything checks out okay - will check back later for trip reports, continued good luck to Team Simon and the Dee Tee contingent today ...

well...i had the island miss half of the ex correct.

Riot 05-30-2009 03:46 PM

Hope all's okay with KNS, and that the Dee Tee contingent had a great time.

Edit: And geesh, I just rewatched it - she tries hard every time, doesn't she? Just got a tad tired right at the end. What a good girl! Hope back at the barn, she gets her peppermints (if she's still Dee Tee's)

I don't know that much about this horse, but I don't think you're gunna have much luck having her that close to a pace like that. She can be that close to the front, but not if the pace is like that. Best thing is to get her covered up behind horses following a relatively slow pace, and let her gather them in. Going one turn, there's probably gunna be someone that lays just off the pace, and gunna be too hard for her to run down late. I don't have her past performances, but she seems better going slower early. Hope she comes out of it fine.

Scuds.. You have it 100% right. That was shockingly quick for that group making the half in :46.3 and she was a little too close. But what's happened with her is that she has been breaking sharp of late, and she isn't really a horse to wrangle back too much. Chuck called me later in the evening, but I missed his call. We'll hear how she came out this morning.

A great crowd of about 20 on hand, dominating the paddock, and I hope everybody enjoyed the day! She'll be back in about 4 weeks to try again, likely back to a mile or 8.5f..

dellinger63 05-31-2009 10:09 AM

It was a great time despite the results, both in the 4rth and nightcap. We didn't go to the barn but immediately following the race Chuck was cursing Tanner Riggs (on the 7) for forcing her wide from the 3 path out to Rolling Meadows. Bob's got 2 more in today so let's hope for a split.
