Good Luck, I don't think this will be chalky. Having said that, it is time for everyone to play the chalk!

Heh, aren't you the guy who made it through with me to the final leg of that monster pic 3 last October?

That is true. I am glad we got through the 6th, Cappy, I really wanted to get Jello Shot through there. There was certainly some cause for pause with Andy going to Monte Carlo (I can't imagine how much he just crushed that exacta), but I really thought Jello Shot could beat these and at 12-1 he was worth using. The McLaughlin is the one who proved he didn't belong on the ticket and I am always dubious with horses with that kind of improvement from 1st to 2nd start, but he is so tough second and third start out.

This leg worries me, but I think Yario is an underlay and I don't like here. I am praying to get through, but even the 8th worries me a bit today as I think even the 5 and 6 have a shot to win there. The 5 in particular if he can find some of that back form and he certainly likes the track, will be an overlay, but it is still a tough race.

Herk is the smart one here who singled Monte Carlo and spread more in the last 3.

Race 7

$20W 9

Good Luck!

I singled monte carlo on my pic 6 ticket but, of course didn't have that $36 winner in the first leg. These are all tough the rest of the way.

the_fat_man 04-19-2009 02:52 PM

Why is Thunder Minister only 15:1 here?

Agreed. The pk6 will be a tough road to hoe with that winner of the first leg.

Fans still love Maylan's pictures I guess.

philcski 04-19-2009 03:01 PM

I actually used that 5 in my pick 6.

Too bad I didn't make it past the first leg. I think we carry again.

Handicappy 04-19-2009 03:02 PM

Well that's it for me. Unbelievable. There is absolutely nothing here to indicate Hawkinsville had any chance at all. Well I am pretty sure we are looking at a triple carryover.

How did you use him? I can't see anything here that would point me too him.

I can take getting beat and I felt that 9 was live at the price, but I can't take getting beat by a horse making that kind of insane move and winning. What just happened there?

All kinds of trouble on the inner, had him on my watch list, ran well in fits and starts but found problems every time- figured he'd get a clean run today from the back, just a matter if he could sustain it. didn't like the 8 so I was willing to go deep in that leg, used 3,5,6,7,9.

By the way- in that 6th race the 3 was much the best. Tons of trouble and when he finally got clear 100 yards from the wire he shot past them both.

In my pick 6 ticket I singled the 7 but I wouldn't say that's a strong single.

pointman 04-19-2009 03:19 PM

I didn't use him in my now defunct pk4, but I am going to put $20W on the 5 Saratoga Lullaby here at 7-1. The more I look at this race, the more I think the winner will be off the pace. $10DD 5-2. Maybe he can make an insane wide move before the turn turn, take the lead, and hold off the other horses. :zz:

philcski 04-19-2009 03:24 PM

Monba at 6/5 is ridiculous... there isn't a whole lot of pace in here, although I think Dominican could get back on track at the site of his biggest moment.

Grasshopper has been too bad to believe this year.

Hope you're right- that would probably lock up a carryover.

Thanks for pointing that out, I did not see the trouble the 3 had, will have to watch that race back again.

I would have had a terrific weekend if I bet place.

Desparation has set in. Your betting on a horse to make an insane move. good luck. He probably will.

philcski 04-19-2009 03:29 PM

Nice win by Reptilian Smarts and good ride by the kid. I'm glad my single lost.

Handicappy 04-19-2009 03:29 PM

Dominguez tried to get cute but this time it didn't work. Man Helsinki didn't show up at all.

Leave it to me to find the horse that pulls up. :wf

Reptillian Smarts really loves the Big A and 3-1 wasn't a bad price, but you are right, desparation has set in.

On another note, Greenspirit couldn't have had it any better and folded like a tent.

Have you always been this charitable? The kid is 6 for 6 on him.

pointman 04-19-2009 03:33 PM

The 2 opens up at 3-1. This race has 10 cent super written all over it if the board is going to spread like this.

I thought he had it won when the half went in 49. He might need a little more than the 6 weeks off they have him for this.

Haha... good point. Meal ticket. He's got 8 wins on the year, 5 on Reptilian Smarts!

Are we carrying? Tough to tell from the NYRA tote.

Kent recognized the lack of pace and took advantage. Thought he might be able to take them a long way, but you never know on the surface switch.

That would make sense because they're listed as "***" (over 200k) on the the NYRA website but the 2 & 6? Seriously? I would have never included either of those on a ticket. Really like the 7 in here.

Stranger things have happened today. The yankees were losing to Carl Pavano and the Indians until they got some runs in the 7th. I deserve alot of booze, wife is in London, I did get the pic 4 yesterday, and I got killed today. Sounds like a booze day to me.

Still one more race to make money and the exotics are good plays here. I like the 2, but thought I would get a better price. I am going to take a shot with the 1 at 6-1 who has already shown she can win at the the distance and I hope the time between 2 and 3 has made her better than this field. She hasn't caught a firm course since that maiden win first out. Using the 2 and 9 a bit underneath and hoping the 7 and 8 don't do better than 3rd or 4th.

That, of course, means most should hammer the 7 and 8!

$1 tri - 1,2/1,2,9/1,2,5,7,8,9

Me too... I thought the same thing.

I'm an idiot. I should have just played the pick 4, would be alive to the 7 & 8.

philcski 04-19-2009 03:58 PM

And the 6 wins for fun. You gotta be kidding me.

Wow, somebody knew something about that 6. Incredible that someone could navagate through that sequence and even be alive to that horse. I guess the indicator was there that the 6 was live.

I started laughing hysterically here. Of course he just had to win. And someone or some group just made 384 k with a two almost $40 winners and a $20 winner. unbelievable.

herkhorse 04-19-2009 04:03 PM

wow
