That's what I thought. But I'm not attuned to the finer points and protocols of mushing. If anything I'm pulling a reverse mush because I'd bet the Sox tomorrow. But then again maybe that's a double reverse mush considering I'd really like to see Tampa clinch. :zz:

I'm leaving.

I have left. Morty can elaborate.

That's fine. When the Rays win their 4th game this series, then they will be actually better. At this point they are exactly where Cleveland was last year.

Cleveland didn't kick the living crap out of Boston twice in a row in Fenway. I agree that this is all moot until the Rays actually win the ALCS, but you can't say they don't look like the better team right now.

Cannon Shell 10-15-2008 09:13 PM

Cleveland went directly into the tank about 15 minutes after my world series tickets arrived. I may have had something to do with it...

dalakhani 10-16-2008 10:55 AM

Now that Philly has taken care of LA, you have to believe that there are many people at MLB, TBS and Fox out there that would STRONGLY prefer Boston to beat the Rays.

This is NOT one of those conspiracy posts to lay groundwork in case Boston wins. Rather, I am just pointing out what an incredible bust a world series would be between the rays and the phils. It would be up there amongst the worst ever ratings wise.

Crown@club 10-16-2008 10:57 AM

Well the record low is 10.1. 2006.

If that is the case, this probable matchup between the phils and the rays would destroy it.

Good for you!

And if this does go down, I dont think anyone can deny that these are the two best teams in the league.

I am excited to watch that series.

Crown@club 10-16-2008 11:15 AM

Best teams - LOL!!!!

There's a cold front coming. Could it be snowing in Philly next weekend?

Count me among those who dont give a damn what the rating are. I will watch because I am a fan of baseball. If the fair weather fans or "mainstream' people dont watch it is fine with me. Maybe if we can get the audience down to just baseball fans they will give us baseball announcers again? Screw Fox. Just because a bunch of 'homer' Boston fans dont watch doesnt mean it wont be a good series.

I agree, screw FOX, the last thing I want to see is the judges from So You Think You Can Dance giving out the starting line-ups or the Hell's Kitchen douchebag leading us in Take Me Out To The Ballgame. The Prison Break dudes hanging out in the bullpen, John Walsh investigating the ground rules....

Don't get me going on that. I've been a Sox fan forever and went through a lot of very difficult years. Now, you have these idiots that claim to be Red Sox fans who don't know who Bucky "#@$%&*% Dent is or who the Sox played in the '75 Series. Idiots!

What was unique about Butch Hobson's first ML homer? I was at that game against the Orioles.

No google. There aren't too many unique Home Runs.

No clue on the first name.

yeah..too many clues on first question

I'll let fpsoxfan answer second

I went to a Sox game this year and sat in the bleachers for $75 a rip. No problem, but after the game I wanted to go to the Beerworks. There was a line. Sorry, I'm not standing in line to get into a bar that became popular because of this Red Sox nation/Fever Pitch nonsense. Found several other bars to accomodate my needs.

I don't know.. Wasn't the Subway Series one of the worst-rated World Series of all time? Maybe it's just because I'm a New Yorker, but I would've thought that would've gotten big ratings.

I'll be watching Rays/Phils if it happens, for sure.
