I believe the show is now up.
|
It's up.. thanks Andy.
|
I tried this once again, and I see no video available at DRF or at Youbet. On terms and conditions it notes this contest is available for "viewing only in etc" so it may be that is not appearing because of a block or whatever for people outside jurisdictions not permitted.
I guess I give up, it was something with the guests, etc, and the handicapping dialogue that I was certainly looking forward to. Anyway, as I said, much good luck Andy. |
Go to the homepage for DRF.com and hit the ad for the show when it comes up. It will absolutely bring everyone to the show.

I will tune in later to see it through, but I did watch the start. May I say..... .....winner winner chicken dinner? |
Thanks Cajun !
|
No problem, Zaf.
Andy, This is excellent. I appreciate you laying out your opinion in a frank manner. For someone like me, it's good that you explained HOW you plan on betting these races... though it's second nature to an expert horseplayer, it's not for me and I personally learned a lot. I'm glad you're doing this. |
Thanks Cajun. I plan to talk about multi-race strategies more next week.
|
By the way, couldn't agree more on Round Pond and Ermine.
|
Your show was good. Nice production quality too.

Thanks Gator...whose better than you? :) |
Thanks. We are using a really terrific studio ( they also film the Tim McCarver Show there ) and I hope the further we go the more stuff we can incorperate.

Well, that came through, and it was worth the difficulty. You did a great job, and with your guest, Mike Watchmaker there was good opinion and exchange between the two of you. A fine show.
I jotted notes for tomorrow while watching. On the lighter side, and don't take this the wrong way, or let it swell your head. You'd be more handsome without the goatee; the mustache, yes, the other, no. There's honesty for ya. Remember, you're the one that said, "any suggestions, critiques, etc." LOLOL |
It's exceedingly rare when Mr.Serling can be rendered speechless.
Rare and sweet. |
I was waiting for one measly Boutros Boutros-Gali joke...
Seriously, good job, and don't listen to Grits about the mustache...I think it's really the glasses she doesn't like. Damn that Watchmaker for taking a stand on Sam P. |

The thoughts on Bold Start and Bwana Bull interested me as I caught BB's last race. |

|
Enjoyed the show. One question - you referred to Latent Heat as "moto"?, never heard that expression. What was meant that. Thanks.

M.O.T.O - Master Of The Obvious.

Where it is on Youbet's website? I can't find it

a star is born....well done andy.

btw: a+ on content.
the set looks very nice. watching you rattle notes with watchmaker is my only complaint. getting a desk on the set where the audience can't see you shifting papers or a decent p.a. to put them up on a teleprompter would make you look like espn. great job for a first show. |
Thanks. Someone on another site said similar things about the notes and as I don't really need them perhaps we can just put them on the table for most of the next show.

I thought the interplay and such fit the relaxed atmosphere. It really didn't even look like a first show. Did you see the right show? |

other than watchmaker jinxing my sam p pick and the shuffling papers it was perfect. i'm watching tv. i want the wizard, not the man behind the curtain. |
"Oh and one more thing, remember when your playing, make sure you are playing to win"
With the GREATEST FINGERPOINT OF ALL TIME.. Great job Mr. Serling....get ready to handicap tonight.... |

So, are you Mr.Serling's good friend, Mr.Mike Watchmaker bda/ Mortimerdextorfoxworthey for all of us here at DT? Not that I think you would dare state such. |
i enjoyed the discussion (regarding the wood and nobiz) about blinkers..interesting that secretariat was mentioned, as i do recall some 'old timey' horsemen actually criticized big red because he wore blinkers! they said that showed he wasn't quite that good, since he wore them....um, yeah, whatever. i agree with watchmakers assessment on tagg being conservative about moving to them.
'phantom bounces'--i LOVE it. i've taken some heat now and then for saying i don't believe in it, glad i'm not alone. i enjoyed the show, thought it was very good--definitely one that i'd watch again. saw above that someone said lose the goatee--i disagree. |

What I really enjoyed of this show (and the shows I've caught on Steve's program) is your familiarity with your guests...it gives the viewer a natural feel of a true conversation not something rehearsed. Also, this show was very productive as you and Watchmaker are approaching the day differently in your selections.
The only thing I'd change is to make the segment 45 minutes because that is the amount of time I spend on the elliptical trainer. ;) |
Thanks everyone....really.
I really loved doing the show with Watch. I had almost forgotten how much fun we had when we did " Talking Horses " together ( ten plus years ago ). Watch takes a lot of heat, and he enjoys a lot of it, but he is tremendous in settings like this. It was a pleasure working with him. |

i'll go further. any buisness that feels the need to cite a personal attribute in their name should be treated as if the opposite was true. "honest john's auto repair" rates under "pirate bob's appliance service" in my book. pirate bob isn't trying to fool me. beware of any one whose excuse starts, "i was on my way to church when this happened.". |
