Have a related question/comment...

What's your guess as to the highest paying Pick 3 sequence of the BC?

I'd guess FM Sprint / Turf Sprint / Juvenile

Any that involves the Marathon.

Either of the P3 sequences of BC races Friday. Marathon- Juv Trf- Dirt mile or Juv Turf- Dirt Mile- Juv Fillies Turf. That second sequence has a true chalk and 20 something 2yo's lasix off-Brutal

I know Point of Entry and Orb are in different stratospheres, but since Shug trains them both-

Shug wasn't really able to oversee a lot of Orb's works and preparations leading to his return in the Travers. But everyone said he was working great. In the Travers the rail opened like a door, Orb shot through it, and flattened. Now is that because Orb really wasn't as fit as advertised and needed a race, or because he just wasn't good enough?

I'm just saying I've heard the speech from plenty of very good trainers, including Shug that say their horses are working like demons. But in races of this caliber you gotta be in peak shape/form. I'm not trying to muddy up your guys' thoughts, but does PoE need a race?

I think the last three races of the w/e Sprint/Mile/Classic as Wise Dan and Game On will be grossly over bet and are not cinches and with the Sprint wide open the potential payoff is there. Of course I'm probably all alone with this view.

Court Vision over Goldikova should be enough for anyone to think any segment has the potential to blow up.

Took a long time to realize the best horse in the race isn't necessarily the best bet. That said, figuring how to play Saturday vertically or horizontally is maddening.

Will Groupie Doll ever return to last years brilliance? I'm betting that she does not, and will work around her in the surrounding pick 3's.

If Closed Hatches runs any kind of race Friday in the Distaff, Sweet Lulu is for sure in play for me.

Mentioning that race severely increases my systolic over diastolic....

I had the all button there... live for I think 56k to HDG... which died in the classic with that bum Drosselmeyer. My systolic over diastolic was off the charts. :o

Group Hug. Court freaking Vision, who I had pegged -good or bad- in every race for 3 years until that one. Tossed without a second glance, but even a long look couldn't have put me there.
