Bogans is a starter in name only. If you watch Chicago play sometime, you will see brewer gets most of the minutes.

Bogans and delonte have similar stats in this year's playoffs as well Charles. I laughed at that whole paragraph. How can you bash bogans and use stats to back it up and then turn around and defend delonte who has the same stats? Please explain. Perhaps you have created your own performance ratings dr Shell

Do you think when pointing out Bogans only plays 17 minutes a game I has somehow forgot that they play 48?

As I asked before name a NBA player that ever had a season like Bogans did. Your trying to bash West at every occasion regardless of how misguided the reasoning is doesn't chnge the fact that a team that is considered one of the favs for the title has a starter that produces at a level of a 10th man.

What difference does it make who's name they call when the game starts? Bogans and West play the same amount of minutes and have basically the same role. So I guess the answer to your original question is easy: Delonte West. He is just as big a scrub.

SO what you are saying is that the players on the court at the end of the game doesn't matter?

I think you have been exposed to too many Wizards games....

Of course comparing a guy who started 82 games with a guy who was injured most of the year and only played 450 minutes and saying their stats were the same kinda makes one wonder if you are drinking or channeling Dr Roman's numbers into basketball form

Geez Chuck, you say that like it's a bad thing.

LOL Does it always have to devolve into this stupidity or can you simply concede the obvious for once?

Bogans and West have nearly identical contributions to their respective teams. Delonte West is just as much of a non-factor as Bogans and the only reason either of them play the minutes that they do is because both teams are devoid of perimeter defensive players. It is a testament to how watered down the NBA has become and it speaks to how poorly Ainge has assembled this year's team.

My point stands and if you like I can bring up the stats to back up said point.

It is interesting that you can twist a conversation about the uniqueness of a situation (Bogans starting for the top team in the East and making an extraordinarily small contribution) into your usual "look at how smart I am" drivel. AND somehow when I don't "concede" your "point" you act indignant?

dalakhani 04-24-2011 09:13 AM

 Delonte West's Postseason Stats. NOTE: 13 minutes and 2 points per game for Boston. I guess they save him for crunch time Chuck. LOL

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/...3/delonte-west

Keith Bogans Postseason Stats for Chicago. NOTE: 18 minutes and 3 points per game for Chicago.

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/.../3/keith-bogan

Both play about the same minutes. Both play about the same role. Both players suck although Delonte appears to suck a little more.

There is nothing unique about the situation and the fact that you think its unique re-emphasizes to me how little you know about the sport.

Bill Cartwright started for the 1993 Bulls. He averaged 5 points and 3 boards in 19 minutes while starting 63 games for a three time champion. Want more?

Beat me to it on Cartright. You forgot that he shot 41% from the field.

This is 2011. That was 18 years ago. I would say that situations that happen every 18 years are hardly ordinary. Of course Cartwrght was near the end of the line for team that he had stated for, and played fairly well for for the previous 6 seasons. Yeah exactly the same...

Despite having never met or spoke to me it is amazing how much you seem to know about my "knowledge". If it makes you feel better to take unwarranted shots at me, I don't mind. I just feel sorry for your husband...

Knicks have quit, horrible first half, 38 points....55-38 and the Celtics are on cruise control. If it weren't for Melo, it would be even worse. The Knicks can't run an offense, standing around while the shot clock runs down...terrible effort!

herkhorse 04-24-2011 04:49 PM

shut up

somerfrost 04-24-2011 07:38 PM

Heat blew one, interesting stat...when the Heat are down 3 or less with 10 seconds or less to play, James and Wade are 1-13 shooting. One has to think that will even out in time but if they are going to make a deep run in the playoffs, it has to change soon.

somerfrost 04-24-2011 07:58 PM

Hawks 66, Magic 61 after three...I'm a bit surprised that the Hawks are giving the Magic such a hard time but the game is a bit of a yawner....both teams seem lethargic.

I didn't realize we were so sensitive. I will never ever take a shot at your knowledge of the game of basketball regardless of how many you have taken at mine. :wf

My husband appreciates the sympathy and it is indeed warranted.;)

dalakhani 04-24-2011 08:31 PM

Knicks had no pg. I think its hardly fair to judge them getting swept when they were trotting out Douglas to be their pg.

somerfrost 04-24-2011 08:47 PM

Hawks go up 3-1, beat Magic 88-85....Magic shoot 3-24 from 3pt land. Howard and Arenas only players that showed up.

The Magic don't match up well with the Hawks this year. The Magic really don't have anyone that can get to the basket besides Jameer Nelson (and arenas in game 4). Their wing players are completely useless offensively and liabilities at the other end of the floor against the longer and more athletic Hawks.

Howard is the only advantage that Orlando has.

Chuck-

How about Mark West? For 92-93 and 93-94 Phoenix Suns he was the starting center. The 92-93 team had the best record in the NBA or at least they were the finalist that year. Mark west's stats? 5.3 points per game with 5 rebounds. After West left? Joe Kleine took over. His stats? 3.7 points and 3.5 rebounds for a team that won their division.

How about Terry Porter? Im talking about the guy that started in the playoffs for the San Antonio spurs in 2000. Remember that team? Lost to the Lakers in the Western Conference finals. His stats? 7 pts and 3 assists during the regular season and 5 pts and 3 assists during the playoffs.

How about Adrian Griffin? Started for the Dallas Mavericks in 2006 when they lost to the heat in the finals. His stats? 4 pts and 4 rebounds per game.

You want more Chuck or are you willing to concede? There are more if you want them. Griffin and Bogans are actually quite similar.
