The Bid won it in 1:54.1,Slew in 1:54.2,Affirmed 1:54.2.
Looks like it could have been faster if like you say Kent let him run.

Cardus, i can't say that ive read anything about them but im sure that you see someone in person, tv whatever and you know that you just don't like them. Well thats the case here. I dont like there $2000 suits, sunglasses in the winners circle, just the arrogance that seems to exude from them and there trainer. I mean this is the same group behind the A one rocket fiasco right? I know that there are a lot on here that like Big Brown and are rooting for him to win and thats fine im pretty confident that the horse will win but it doesn't mean im happy about it.

Foolish? Foolish to compare him to the ones (except for the Bid who should have won..) that went on to win the Triple Crown? Be different if he ran in 1:55.. Then perhaps it would be "foolish"..

i think foolish in the sense that you can't compare todays times to bids for example, since i'm sure the track 29 years ago wasn't the same as today.

Weren't they the group with the A one rocket horse though? Look like i said if people like them fine, i dont. I would just think that a different owner/group of owners would be a better face for racing. But then again, i guess that is what is happening in the game. Im not a ******, i know that most horse owners are very wealthy and most may not be likeable but they just get under my skin. No big one but i'd love to see the look on there collective faces if he loses the belmont. Would be about as good as watching brady get his ass planted in the ground like 45 times in the super bowl.

I can't stand them or Dutrow and the idea that they are on the verge of a TC is just...disturbing on several levels. IEAH got into the game buying bottom claimers and moving them up 3 or 4 levels and scoring at HUGE prices, until their trainer got caught milkshaking and ended up in jail, or close to it.
The IEAH guys (who were betting hard on thse horses) skated away from liability because the trainer, not the owner who hires him is the "ultimate insurer" in racing. They moved on to another trainer with an equally checkered past who tries to look like a hurt little girl on TV when asked about his horses Winstrol shots. That when added to his record or infractions from medication issues to his own use and scams like what happened with Wild Desert etc. and it just pains me to see so talented a horse (and I do think he's a freak) in the hands of these folks. I would love to see Pat Reynolds taking this ride.

I don't need some Pollyannaish tale of woe (like Mr Chapman on his respirator) or Alex's Lemonade to get behind a horse. I just like to be able to cheer for people who I see as likeable. (I am not a class warrior who doesnt like people because they are successful and or rich, either.)

I, for one, have no interest in motorboating with Kent's wife.

Payson, i think the proper wording is "motorboating Kent's wife" you motorboatin sonofabitch. And yes she is fine.

Linny 05-17-2008 07:12 PM

Stays on topic though ( she appears a bit Equine related.)

**** being clean. If he were still training him, the horse would probably not have even started again or, at best, run like Backseat Rhythm has this year.

I'm 'amused' by all the 'ethical' concerns of the forum members. Either they've studied a hell of a lot more philosophy than I have OR they just don't ****in' bet; which, by the way, is the primary objective.
