of course you look at the fla derby. doesn't mean you give much weight to it of course.

but cool coal man has not been flattered much by the company he kept in the FOY. that race is anything but key at this point.

I don't think you can really say that. EF got heat stroke so that's a toss and the 3rd place horse (beaten by like 6 in the FoY) came back to suck up for 3rd again in the Wood like he always does.

Danzig 04-07-2008 07:16 PM

yeah, i know elysium got heat stroke. what about the other dozen horses in there? none have done anything since, some didn't do anything before it either. that race is turning out as weak as it was originally timed. a shame too, as i like cool coal man. but i think he's running into a buzzsaw this wknd.

This is funny... Curlin, Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex... if that's not a grade one list, I don't know what it is. And to think, Smarty Jones is on your top horses list.

I can't even remember who else was in that race. And I don't think he'll win this weekend on the poly. But I really liked his move in the FoY and he looks to have a good style for the derby.

[quote=DaHoss9698]Adriano and Halo Najib came back to run 1-2 in whatever they are calling the big race at Turfway now

good point horsey

Danzig 04-07-2008 07:27 PM

yeah, i read an article that said they regretted running adriano on dirt, since he'd shown such an affinity for the poly.

and hockey, i hope cool coal man does well- i do like the horse.

Forgive me if I'm wrong KG... but wasn't one of "all those people" YOU??

This field blows, yeah, but no worse than the Wood, if you take out War Pass.

Astounding..

IrishofNDMan 04-07-2008 08:43 PM

I don't mind the weak field, pretty much guarentees that Blackberry Road will be in the Derby gate. First time I've made a future bet, so it is pretty exciting to me regardless if he has much of a chance or not in the Derby.

Danzig 04-07-2008 09:00 PM

kohana out, which moves shekinah in.

Oaklawnfan 04-07-2008 09:27 PM

Advance weather forecast........ Great in Hot Springs, rain and thundrshowers in Lexington. Of course those competitors are on polytrack. Pick 4?

Out of curiousity Steve, is there any trainerspeak that you don't buy? It's a rhetorical question.

Who's riding?
