i see what your saying, i just think based on how weak the division is and how overrated english channel is, i think it has to be showing up, unless you want to put the tin man in the number 1 spot, which i would not argue

The Tin Man can certainly be considered for the #1 spot...no denying that.

Pretty weak division. I can only really put Showing Up and Lava man (let's revisit in 2 weeks) there. maybe we'll see somithing out of some others this spring/summer.

Yeah Lava Man is tough to figure on this list. In Cali, I would certainly bet him against Showing Up, but unless he proves he can win outside of Cali (which I doubt he ever will) I wouldn't put him in the top 3.

While The Tin Man was very consistent last year and ran a terrific race in the Arlington Million the horse was able to back the pace down to a ridiculous level. It was an absolutely masterful ride by Victor Espinoza, who is very tough on a frontrunner, but I would like to see The Tin Man win a race with A) a good field and B) run legitimate fractions en route to the victory. He is undoubtedly a top notch turfer in this country, these are just some things I'd like to see.

In a 1 1/4 mile race with more than one speed horse, give me English Channel over The Tin Man.

Bayeux was just off the top level here and should be very decent on turf and poly... there's a g1 in him i feel!

look at the tin mans pp's he has shown the ability to go very fast early and still be there late, also he ran huge in dubai, even at his old age i'd take him over english channel

Close, it was actually the Turf Classic with Velazquez... on what was a horrible Breeders Cup Preview day at Belmont.

what about wait a while?...i know she is a female but i feel she had a very impressive 3 year old season and she has already beat older females (even though i believe the field was on the weak side)

the male turf division is very weak and she is very good, but i wouldnt put her in the top 3, i would go showing up, the tin man, english channel, and then very possibly her

I dont understand why people are so hard on Tinny for the Arlington Million win. Is it his fault that the other jocks let him and Victor steal the race?hehe I also think the Dubai race was a brilliant race. He had a post that took the race out of his hands so to speak. Victor had to send him or get stuck down on the rail in major traffic, and for him to lead the whole way and just get beat by a very good horse(if you forgive the BC classic trainwreck) in David Junior.....but then agian I am just a tad prejudice!:D
